Subject: Which would like Halo 4 to be most like?

The Arbiter got sidelined
I'm just glad that he still existed. Look at the Zealots. There are none. That's a greater atrocity.

Just one more reason I hate Halo 3 more than any Halo. I'd bet my money on Halo 4 being better, even if only by a slim margin.

The only reason I don't hate H3 is because of the AI collections and Arbiter. Otherwise, I'd have dropped it years ago.

Reach AI didn't get the chance to shine like they should have and Jorge shouldn't have been killed off so early (he was the only non-team killing, non-vehicle stealing, non-poor ranged member of Noble Team).

I want the campaign the give me the feeling that Halo 2's campaign gave me. I want to replay the campaign 8 years from now and not get tired of it.

Funny, I've not been team killed by any noble team member as I've noticed. Vehicle stealing... maybe once or twice :P.

Try assassinating an Elite right when a Pelican shows up. Either all Pelican pilots are evil (like the pilot on Sierra 117 who indiscriminately fires the missiles) or the 6(?) round burst fire weapon is really unnecessary. Then of course, the Pelican might consider the Elite dead (IIRC, at a certain point in the assassination animation, the victim's already dead) or is just too slow to respond (when I'm not doing an assassination and I'm standing in the way of fire, the Pelican does not fire).

Nonetheless, only reliable people like Jorge should be allowed to fire at dead corpses. I've seen videos of Jun sniping players, even when the AI wasn't being assassinated.

IMO, Halo Reach was too non-competitive and unfair. Too many times I might run into an armor locker or a guy sprinting with a sword, or someone with sniper and camo. The AAs were just too unbalanced, the bloom made the game more random, the grenades were OP, most of the maps were terrible, and the list goes on. Reach had a great campaign, forge, and and firefight though.

MLG Players keep saying it plays similar to Halo 3.

When I saw the Halo 4 MLG gameplay, I was stunned. After the failure of Reach, I thought they would have fixed it, but MLG has custom loadouts, even more AAs, at least twice as many weapons, etc. It looked less competitive than social slayer from Halo 3. D:

And MLG players were excited/happy with Reach too.

Frankly, they shouldn't be quoted as a 100% honest group knowing what halo would play like, or that a game plays like 'a halo game'.

How many are paid to say that? How many really think that?

Turkey Nugget Inc. The new chicken nugget.

I agree halo 1 had superior level design. I enjoyed lockout and ivory tower on h2 and the pit on h3. Perhaps the clean and blocky concrete feeling is what I like.

I do agree Halo 2's campaign was very linear. The graphics I actually liked though. Halo 3 is... glossy. Even things that are supposed to be rigid or muddy were shiny. However mechanics in general felt extremely polished.

I don't understand why you brought up the fact high ranks don't make you a bigger fan. Should I tell you I've read all the books and been to E3 as well? We are talking about feel of Halo 4. Not how big of a fan I or anyone else is of the franchise. Quite frankly your comment was exactly what I was trying to avoid; an attack on my validity based on an unmeasurable measurement known as "imabiggerfanthanu". I put my rank up so people wouldnt comment "he's not a fan" or something along the lines of this. We are all fans!

And Halo ODST feels like halo 3 for obvious reasons. Just as the CE remake feels like reach for again obvious reasons.

Most like Halo 1 in terms of level design.

Also no one cares what levels you reached, and that doesn't make you a big Halo fan. So far I have enjoyed all the Halo games including Reach, and probably least of all Halo 2 (mostly due to its linear Campaign and the fact that the jump from Halo 1 graphics to Halo 2 were really not that big for three years).

EDIT: Also including Halo 3:ODST, which you clearly didn't think was important enough for your poll.

You shouldn't have brought up rank at all. I don't think people would have questioned that you are a fan. The way you wrote it makes it sound as if your levels are what makes you a fan of Halo.

Oddly, this is familiar to you, as if it were from an old dream, but you can't exactly remember...

What comes to my mind is that it starts another trilogy - so it's bound they will have some similarities. Which I think is nice.
But I think the difference between those two is too great.

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

Halo 3, though I know it will be nothing like Halo 3 based off of every bit of game footage I've seen.

This series is being milked...

I want it to have a halo 2-esque campaign. I loved halo 2's campaign, because you really got into the arbiter's head as he questioned his convictions, and as the civil war broke out. However, I want MP to be like Reach. I don't understand the reach hate. I play halo 3 also, but prefer Reach. I like halo 3 too, but just prefer reach. I want to make it clear that I loved halo 3 also.

I wish I could rescind my vote... CE or H2 is what I should have voted.

Halo campaign has been getting worse and worse.

Reach was not the cause. Reach was the continuation.

H2 was not the cause. Only the initiator. First steps include: dual wielding, lunge, increased autoaim, loss of life-like AI, high damage

But H2 didn't change too much. There are many aspects that can be tolerated.

It was H3 that has ruined the Halo campaigns. Closer invisible barriers would later become 10 second countdowns. Lethal vehicle combat would later become absurd. Equipment (which is essential for many parts of the H3 campaign. Try getting past the Pure Forms without it. There's no way to flank them. You're stuck. Equipment is the only way to get past them. Or luck of course, as H3 campaign is luck based) would later become AAs.

Stealth is all but impossible and turning on skulls only makes the game harder, not replayable! And it's really, really sad when I can hide behind the elevator controls or behind a mere scenery item and shoot at and kill Brutes without them retaliating.

If H4 is anything like H3 or Reach, especially the former, then I'm done with Halo.

I wish that they would just drop the armor abilities, (excluding sprint). If Halo 3 had sprint I would still be playing it regularly.

I disagree that it's being milked. I used to think the same thing. But this isn't part of the same Halo series the rest of it was. Sure, it's set in the Halo Universe, and it follows on from where Halo 3 left off, but it's the beginning of a new trilogy and a new story.

Halo 3/Reach. Halo 2's campaign was great....so the too.

Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.
This. They brought back the BR, old health bar from H3, and added to the existing story. As for the Reach portion, they revived armor abilities, bad ranking up system(credits), and buying armor.

A mix between Reach and Halo 3 would be closest to what I'd like.
