Depends on how good Halo 3 is. Me and my friends still play Halo CE on XBC. In fact, they are coming over this weekend to play. A lot of that is because Halo 2 never really lived up to all the hype like we had hoped. Another reason, and maybe the more important is that Halo 2 (and XBox Live in general) is geared for the solo player. We tried and tried to get more than one XBox connected to play Halo 2 online from one location. It was nothing but problems. I think XBox Live and Halo 2 aren't really made for people to play together in one location, but rather from their own seperate houses. It just isn't nearly as enjoyable when we can't all sit around together and play. When XBox Live came out and we played some of the first Live games, we could see even then that it may effect Halo 2. Hell, a lot of games you can't even play online splitscreen with 2 people. We tried to play Call of Duty 2 when it came out splitscreen. Can't do it, you can only play with one person per box in multiplayer. So, on that point I'm more conviced it's an XBox Live problem than it is a Halo 2 problem.

Plus, Halo 2 has a much more zoomed in look, causing problems when trying to play splitscreen. It has a much smaller field of view, causing dissorientaion problems. When near a large object or a wall, you can loose track of what direction you are facing very easily. Hell, I do that with Halo 2 when I have the whole TV to myself. I never had that problem with Halo CE because it has a larger field of view. Meleeing with the smaller field of view in Halo 2 is hard enough to do without losing your sense of direction when it lunges you, but try it splitscreen...it's a nightmare to keep yourself oriented.

There are a lot of other reasons. One reason why I don't play Halo 2 in general (even playing by myself, not with friends) if just the inconsistancies of the game. You all know them. Shotgun not working, melee's not connecting. The other day I ran over a guy twice at full speed in the ghost and only hurt his shields. Later in the same game someone from the other team ran me over and it was instant death. I wasn't near a wall or anything. Don't know why it worked for them and not for me. Just plain inconsistant. It's very frustrating. In Halo CE, if I shoot you with a weapon, it's going to do X amount of damage EVERY time, if with lag. The only difference is the lag may prevent me from getting a clean shot. You are there one minute, gone the next. But, if I do manage to get you in my crosshairs, that shotgun will do the proper amount of damage. If I run you over in a vehicle in Halo CE, by god it's going to kill you, not push you around.

lol, ya, in the first game, if you got touched by the hog you died, even if it was barely moving.

Hey, at least it worked. I don't know how many times in Halo 2 I've run over people just to push them around a little, maybe weaken their shields...but they still lived. Half the purpose of having a boost on the new ghost is to run people over. Doesn't do much good when you are going full blast and just give the guy a love tap across the map, yet he doesn't die.

When I play a game like this, I don't like to have a roll of the dice chance. Rolling dice is for RPG's, not for FPS's. When I pull the trigger I should have the confidence that my weapon will work as intended. It should do X amount of damage at X range. I should know when I run someone over at full speed it WILL kill them. I should know when I am in range for a melee that it WILL connect. Nothing more frustrating than an inconsistant game.

ya, true, but you can't say that its not funny when the hog rolls sideways like 2 inches, and then you die... and the only reason why you miss some melees is that if someone steps to the right as you try to hit him (sword for example) you will miss him. You can dodge melees, but ya, it would be nice to run into someone with the hog and not have them run across the map

i actually havnt had many problems running over guys while in the ghost and hog... and i just put in haloCE to play it.

on a related note, frankie says in his WWU this week that halo2 games are still jsut as popular when they released, just not at the high point. i think he was arguing that its not becoming less popular, but hten he shows a graph of how its becoming less popular. but his point is that such statistics are a testiment to HALOCE fans that halo2 is infact not unbalanced and not inconsistent.

i say thats BS. when fans come online and post videos and game statistics that show how things happen on halo2 XBlive and how htat shouldnt be the case, frankie hops on the WWU with his power trip and says "im right and thats that. i dont need evidence. i can just bad mouth and i win!"

sickening. im off to play CE

ce is awsome. There are a lot of problems with xbl's halo 2 so the only good way to play it is over lan, but halo ce doesn't have the -blam!- weapon unbalancedness (lol) so it's much more enjoyable, also the weapons take much more skill. Like the BR practically aims itself, and the h2 sniper is all auto-aim. ce take some of what we like to refer to as... skill.

ya, halo ce you had to be good with the sniper. Halo 2 all you have to do is look to the left or to the right, and you get a head shot. You see a guy, your at head level, so you quickly look across his head as you shoot, and always, it will be a head shot.

this is off topic, but I think in halo 3 the gun should only be good at very long distances, considering its a sniper rifle.

Halo is still played by me and my friends for old times sake.I think it's a classic that like certain multiplayer games like Goldeneye and others that will always be enjoyed.I think in a few years people will still be saying "Hey you wanna play some Halo 1 for old times sake".While some don't admit it.it'll always be a fun play and a classic in gaming history.Plus I plan to play all 3 back to back once I get Halo 3 and I'm sure I'm not the only one that is going to do so,he he.

I played some classic halo campaign today, Halo on Normal, oh ya. I really just wanted to own some grunts with my pistol... Also, I have a question, how do I get XBC?

GT is KS Superstar
I still play H1, PM me if you want to play.

Halo will always be played by the hardcore orginal old school players, such as my self. I think of Halo 2 as a completley diffrent game not a sequal, I'm predictiong that Halo 3 will be more of a sequal then a diffrent game.
