Subject: We should only allow paid/subbed accounts to register on this site...

~:O>~~

Let's face it... alternate accounts are primarily used as a means to post harmful content without the consequence of being completely cut off from this site. If we only allow e-mails that are connected to a subscription service (Live, PSN etc.) this will help in detering individuals from posting unwanted/harmful content.

Thoughts?

Subject: We should only allow Live accounts to register on this site...

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Why? Bungie and Microsoft are not directly associated anymore.

If someone makes an account for bad purposes then they will get banned eventually. Such precautions are unnecessary.

Not that that matters. LIVE is still a necessity when playing multiplayer on Bungie's games, and the majority of members have LIVE, or at least an account. The problem lies with those who don't have LIVE or what have you, but still want to make an account.

Key

No. What if someone is a PC gamer and they're excited to discuss Destiny being on the PC?

You do know that there's a system that compares IPs with those who are banned and other accounts, right?

There is absolutely no reason for this.

You are aware that an IP can be changed on the fly right?

Don't worry about that, Carthurlane. Bungie.net has this neat IP bans where if someone creates an alt account to avoid ban or about to get banned, the system will find all other matching pairs of internet protocol address and ban the account and suspend their account until the ban expires.

They have already thought about that long before you made this post :)

Except that they don't use it.

Alternate accounts should not be a problem, as posts made containing mean/hurtful/harmful content will be removed and the user should be issued with a ban/warning.

Bye.

People still play games offline. Shocker. I know!. There's always going to be people who are fans of bungie but don't play online. Why can't they be allowed to create an account? If you really want to remove alts you'd need to add a non-intrusive means of doing so.

Honestly, we have to rely on moderation, and each individual needs to thicken their skin. It would hurt Bungie immensly to charge a fee for their forum or website. Especially with new IP getting ready to be added. We could make a sticky hurt feelings thread where members that had their feelings hurt could express why...

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

I'd agree, if I didn't have the suspicion that that comment was directed at me.

I want you to know that I'm feeling very hurt.

This site needs all the activity it can get as of now. This would not only destroy much entertainment in the Flood, but could potentially do massive damage to the sites current population.

No.. but optional subscriptions for extra forums and goodies would be good. Other sites have them and they are pretty good for example, one site i'm on offers a number of interesting things all for just one pound (£1) a month. - Thats like $1.5?

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

Is it really that big of a problem? Maybe you're taking this place too seriously.

Just my opinion.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

You make it seem as if creating a Gamertag is a long and difficult process. It is not.

If you mean just attached to a GT and not a gold GT then that is just dumb. People already take the time to make a new email address, do you think they won't be willing to spend 3 more seconds to make a silver XBL account.

Also there are no IP bans, just [REDACTED]

nubs these days
