I believe due to the fact 3 levels were cut from Halo 2 as well as the ARK has been seen in sketches for Halo 2 that the Halo 3 announcement trailer is the end of Halo 2 if the last three levels had been put into place. Think about it it would have made a superb ending to Halo 2 and Bungie is getting us up to date with what is going to happen in Halo 3. Also in Halo 3 with exception to High Charity are we going to be playing completely on Earth? We still have not encountered the Covenant homeworld. I'd love to hear your views!

No. The Forerunner ship headed to Earth is the Helm's Deep of the Halo universe. Halo 2 served as a the bridge between Halo: CE and Halo 3. Halo 3 will take care of itself as far as keeping the player up to date. ( Keep in mind that everyone at Bungie has been quoted as saying that the MC's suit reflects that he's been through a horrendous battle, which we have yet to see.)

Perhaps but what other locales do you see in Halo 3? With the exception an installation may be on Earth I think it is safe to say that we will not be visiting another Halo in Halo 3. Bungie has something vastly different planned for Halo 3 more than the Ark.

i think that the trailer is for about 2/3 of the way through the gameand most of the human on the planet are dead or in hiding the mariens have been released from service to do what they think was right and they faught with the master chief there at the last moment a 2nd Grave Mind comes and MC fights it off all other life within 1000km is dead

I honestly think that the Halo 3 trailer would have been the ending of Halo 2 had the levels been left in.

What do you mean by "left in?"

No, I do not. Now can you please explain to me how the trailer could be the end of Halo 2?
I mean, considering we all remember the Halo 2 ending as: Forerunner ship exits slipspace, Master Chief gives one-liner, credits roll. I'm sorry but I fail to see your logic.

Remember the H3 teaser trailer might just be that, a teaser of what's to come. It may just be showing us what the third game will look like, graphics etc...

However we dont know what happened between the MC getting back to Earth at the end of H2, and the teaser we all drooled over. At the end of H2, the UNSC were still trying to defend the planet from the Covenant invasion.

But then in the teaser, we see the MC and lots of Covenant ships on the surface around what we believe to be a Forerunner construct. What happened in between?

The key to all of this appears to be Earth, and the construction in the trailer. Maybe the main Halo ring is located under the Earth's surface.

But we obviously won't know for sure until the third game is released.

I thouht that High Charity was the Covenant homeworld. I think the trailer is just a teaser to keep you in suspense. Plus, the graphics are way out of Halo 2's league, so it couldn't have been the ending. It may be possible that the 3 levels that were removed in Halo 2 have been moved to Halo 3. Who knows...................

Perhaps I was unclear. Obviously Halo 3's teaser has been produced using Halo 3's graphical power. What I am trying to say is Halo 2 promised an epic battle on Earth. Some say that it was not delivered. Halo 2 had 3 levels that were cut. What I am saying is that had Halo 2 had the 3 cut levels then the ending would have included the Ark. If you still dont understand my theory based on facts then please just ask and I will try to be more specific.
