oh and sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet mod by the way, ill definatly be downloading this, but few questions:
are u gona release it all together or each map seperatly?
will the spartans be present thru the whole game or will they die at poa?
will the halo storyline be changed?
how will u implemet things like nav markers into whats essentialy a multiplayer map, i mean the level is suposed to be single player but were still talkin about a multi player application?

oh and ignore my last question if it didnt make sense :-)

and can i ask why its impossible the other maps on your website, some of them like abyss look sexy

It's SP, not mp, there is a UI we will release that you can use to play it. Spartans are present all teh way to 343 GS, and the storyline is not changed at all.

I think the spartans had shields althuogh the marines in h1 did not.

Anyways, yes, the Spartans will have shields and no the marines did not and will not have shields either.

I've been playing with widget definitions trying to get coopoerative working on CE since Kornman released a hacked version of Guerilla that allowed me to do so. After conferring with the Prometheus Team's leader, we've agree on two things.

The port to PC was incredibly basic. Virtually all things from the xbox version for cooperative were left in. This includes things like scripts, second player spawns, what will happen should the xbox crash during gameplay, dashboard things, and so forth. Seeing this, we agreed that it was very possible that it is still in there and we just haven't gotten it worked out.

The second thing we agreed on was that the port to PC was incredibly basic. Yeah, I know it sounds like the same thing, but being as basic as it was, it's entirely possible the chunk of code that split the screen for multiplay on the same system was left out while all the references were still in place. Unlike recursive pieces of the scenario, the UI seems completely unphased by missing pieces.

Either way, we still haven't found a way, and there's a good chance that we wont.





Also, we have another set of goodies for you guys. Today, Masters put up a series of pictures outlining the history of the SMG used in the mod.

It all started with Greenglow's SMG model made in the September of 2004

Then we attempted a clear clip like origanaly wanted in halo 2

And now, the final design, including silencer. The silencer was added as a gameplay stregnth. Being silenced and all, enemies dont hear it :p.

And the front side view. You can also see an updated version of the custom biped we are using. The gun is done, the biped isn't, so no complaining about it.

hm no what i ment was co operative over the internet, i mean split screen computer would be hard but instead of playin deathmatch or ctf or whateva if u ade a gametype that utilised these spawn points to efectivly make a multiplayer game where the players worked together to complete the level

Silencer is pretty good, you can shootem up in quiet zones.

The spartan allies are just like you. Same health as the player, they have shields. They also carry chainguns sometimes, have higher acuracy than marines, and most important, they doesn't get stunned when shot. A normal marine will get shot and stop firing, a spartan will keep on fighting no matter how bad'y he's been hurt until he is dead.

Chaingun is like carrying the gun on the back of the warthog.

Marines fire differnt'ly dependeding on thr weapon they have. They hold it down more on the AR than in h1, burst in smg, full auto on the chaingun. They also use the grenade launcher on the BRG

Spartans say same things as marines

I just read roughly the whole thread, and I have got to say this is awesome, I wonder what the bungie guys have to think of this. This is basicly just amazing, you upgraded teh graphics, ported halo 2 weapons successfully to Halo CE, and made it balanced as well, having a purpose for all weapons. This is just pure amazing.

Who knows, keep this up and your mod and team might make front page.
Maybe your team might even get hired by bungie for Halo 2 PC in the near future.

Also what changed to the AR and SMG have been made other than the silencer to make them be different from each other, changed in power, accuracy, etc. etc.?

Wasn't the silenced SMG only a concept? I saw it in the Halo Art book.

We're hoping to hit the front page news. That would make our day. I know Bungie to occaisionally place custom CE content, so maybe they'll take note of it.
The two lead modelers just keep getting better. I cant wait to see that stuff they're putting out in a few years. I dont really see what we could offer rather than experienced end user advice on the content creation side of the game. Well, besides making a map, which will happen :p.

The changes to the AR are minor. Aside from cosmetic differences, the average user might not notice a difference in the weapon. Its accuracy has been slightly increased, rate of fire has been slightly decreased, stregnth has been slightly increased, and the melee is long and strong.
The SMG is new, :p, so it's basically unchanged. If you're going to compare it to the SMG that was in Municipality, a MP map by Wave of Lag, then I really dont know what to say about it. It's got a fast rate of fire, decent stregnth, and is now silenced. It'll be a nice alternative to bashing your way through Assault on the Control Room.

I believe the silenced SMG was indeed a Bungie concept for Halo 2. That reminds me that I've always wanted that book, >_>. As for wether or not that concept came into play in adding it to the CMT mod, Masters or Wave of Lag would have to speak up.

The silencer for the SMG is not optional and will be on the gun no matter what. There is no true way to do that with the engine provided.

No worries about confusion Tango. I understood what you were referring to.
