Subject: Do you judge people by thier avatar?

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

Of course i do. For example, people that use certain avatars are more likely to be jerks. As much as i wish it wasn't true, it is.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

The only avatar I judge is my own.

  • 06.12.2012 8:23 PM PDT

Somewhat.

I mostly use avatars to identify other members. But on occasion I also use it by to judge them (and others with similar avatars) based on their posts.

If I find that a particular user posts negative or rude posts then I tend to associate their avatar with those kind of posts. And eventually whenever I see the avatar (whether it is the same user or not) I immediately assume it is a negative or rude post.

I only use it to recognize some members. There's not really a point in judging someone just by what avatar they chose to use.

Yes. Everybody judges people based on what they see. It's just a fact- there's no taking anybody that denies this seriously.

We all have tendencies, whether we want to or not, to judge the content of a post before reading it by the avatar. For example, if it's the default avatar the thread is likely to be of a lesser quality.

It's really the same principle of judging based on member titl- I mean ranks. Yeah. Ranks. I said it.
I'm NOT LISTENING to you. You have a MUSTACHE.

This is a justified statement. Although, according to the scale, our dear Burrito is questionable at most.

I judge anyone with my avatar to be nothing but a lying and devious impersonator who must be stopped. Other than that I don't really pay attention though I sometimes recognize people by theirs (or more accurately, think someone is a member I know that uses the same avatar).

I do not "judge" them, but I do use it as an indication on who the user is. That is why I hate it when others change their's.

I never judge anyone by their avatar. If I did, it would be like judging someone in real life by what they look like; and that's just stupid.

Avatars? Not on this site because you are limited on choosing one from the ones made available. And Halo Emblems are hardly unique anymore so I only recognize users by their username or coup. Obviously, the Ninjas and Employees stand out as they have custom avatars.

And yes, I judge people based on their avatars and oups. I already know which ones to avoid and which ones to be friends with based on their coup. If someone doesn't have coup, I look at their avatar and post.

Well yeah, at first at least.

I've noticed in my time here that people with 9 as their emblems are always tools. Especially if they're grey with a red outline.
