To stick, or not to stick...That is the question.

I'm sorry if this is already an existent thread. I just did not have time to look through a couple of pages in the forum.

Anyway, I think that a key factor in making Halo 3 a great game would most likely be its MULTIPLAYER MAPS . This thread is out for your ideas on what you think Halo 3's MULTIPLAYER MAPS should be like.

Give examples of maps you think should be ressurected from the first Halo, and maps that you believe should be brought into Halo 3 from Halo 2.

Something else you all can do is give ideas and examples you all would like in Halo 3's MULTIPLAYER MAPS , such as what type of surroundings and what type of in-game interactions (explosives, gates that can be opened, etc.).

Heres My Map idea,

Map Name: Training Op.
Enviroment: Open Field relic water borders
Map Background: A deserted Marine Training Camp
Game Types: Slayer, Team Slayer

This map is a empty base, wich was onced used by marines to train. It has a sufficient amount of cover, such as old bunkers and sniper spots. In the very middle it is a big open field. The bunkers and sniper spots surround the open field. In the open field there is destroyed terrian blockage pieces, such as blown up hogs and such. On the outskirts of this island make a covenat ship be parked(By this ship put a energy sword make it a little tough to reach, also make alot of alien wepons surrounding the ship.)(This is were the opposing team will start). There are a few rocks for the opposing team to hide behind. To make there way to the abondoned base.(The Defending team will start in the open field, in the middle). In the sniper spots i mentioned earlier make them towers, and put a human sniper in each. In the bunkers place various human wepons.

Staring Wepons: Battle Rifle, Magnum For humans, Plasma Rifle and Carbine for Covenant.
Starting grenades: 2 frags, 2 plasma
wepons on map: A little of both sides.

I don't think there should be any re-remakes, what I mean by that is: Don't remake a map that has already been remade in Halo 2. I'm for maps brought back from Halo 1 or 2, but only ones that are original to those games. Not that have been in both of them. i.e. Blood Gulch/Coagulation; Battle Creek/Beaver Creek; Wizard/Warlock; Longest/Elongation.

I think it would be cool to bring SOME of the original Halo 1/2 maps back, but it would be much better if more unique and new content were considered. Sure we all like seeing some of our 'favorites' back. However I really like to see new and exiting content that no one has ever seen before.

I'd also like to point out the pie-chart in the weekly update, where Lockout is overwhelmingly the most played map Period. I think this is due to below par recreations of old maps, and half-assed attemps at new ones.

With that I will return to dormancy for another 8 months.

how about map which is like in a desert plain with holes and tunnels where you can hide, and there is also 2 bases all with built in enplacements (computer controled), with weak auto cannons, like the warthog gun. that way players have to think more carefully how to tackle the base best without dieing. players usually like to charge into the base...

Bring back Coagulation and Beaver Creek because they have survived this long, we might as well keep em on the life support, and bring back Sidewinder, cause that one was sweet.
Also, for a new map, two islands, seperated by a destructable bridge, and lots of water. Each island is a big 'ol fortress, with turrets lining the front docks to shoot at the boats, a couple big old sniper towers, maybe with a turret in those too. There will be 2 different types of boats for each island, one transport, heavily armored, can carry lots of people with light machine guns for defense, and one military boat, which is basically a gauss warthog that looks different and works well in water. The connecting bridge will increase the necessity of using boats, and make the warthogs less useful.
I don't mean to steal the show here, but if you've got any ideas for changes or additions to my map idea go ahead and post em.

I'm sorry if this thread bothers you. However, I was just trying to make a new thread that dealt specifically to Halo 3 Multiplayer Map Ideas .

i agree with Reginald , we need to let live some of the old school levels from the first Halo game, in my opinion, some new courses such as Colossus and Ascension really suck. beaver creek is a classic and needs to still be played, with the exception of a few moderations. so to sum it up. Bungie needs to make a "reunion" with all the levels in Halo 3.

also we need to make levels more larger to give a more realistic battle.

im afraid that Bungie may get carried away with the realisism and Halo 3 wont be as fun as people think.

dont get me wrong, it will be a kik ass game but some games do that and it affects the entertainment value of the video game itself
