I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.
I too dislike the makeover process.
The more human a computer begins to look, the more I start to associate human behavior with it, and thus the less I subconsciously believe it's a computer.
The feeling of working with a Smart AI is much different than working with an intelligent human. There are a ton of subtle things that come into play. Computers are incredibly more rational, immeasurably faster at thinking, have a near perfect memory, can calculate things faster than you can provide the numbers, don't let emotions fog their view, and so on.
When working with humans, you have to trust that they know what they're talking about. With super computers, you know that they know what they're talking about.
I can appreciate the simplicity of the original Cortana model. It wasn't even on par with the human models of the game. Virtually a simple outline with a handful of textures which resembled a 30ish year old woman.
I don't want to work with a naked sex-icon when I'm killing aliens. I'd rather work with a smart-ass 30ish year old woman looking super computer.
Really, though, it's just a minor detail. I'm still going to get the game eventually.
