As we all know the Halo’s kill the Floods food, sentient life. When we first encounter the Flood on Alpha Halo, they have laid dormant for thousands of years. So it seems that only the Flood combat and carrier forms can “starve” and die. The Flood infection forms only lay dormant when deprived of food. It doesn’t seem like there is a way that we know of to eliminate the entire Flood race. From there the Flood infection forms were contained in the Library for further study. Now unless the Library is protected from the Halo’s activation, the Halo’s blast won’t kill them.

So either the infection forms cannot be "killed" by the Halo's, or the Library is a safe house from the blast.

Yea i mean i think its that kind of thing were if we all got nuked, they're would still be that one cockroach that crawled out from under a rock. Some forerunners/humans had to be after the blast to put away the flood, unless the machines are the ones who do that, the sentinels.

I wonder if Halo's activation can destroy all the Infection Forms altogether knowing how easily they burst. If Halo can simply rid the galaxy of the Infection Forms, then the other forms will starve to death following the death of all sentients. The rest of the Flood, such as a present outbreak on Halo, will be taken care of by the Sentinels and the Monitors whether to contain them and/or destroy them. It seems a possibility, that anything within Halo's habitat survives the activation.
