Because it's the closest game to Halo 4 right now, and people want Halo 4 pretty badly.
It's like when a steady amount of population trickled back to Halo 3 right before Reach.
You misunderstood me. I don't understand how people crucified Reach for having Armor Abilities and such, but now are excited for a game which not only has them, but is MUCH more similar to Call of Duty than to past Halo titles.
The only people excited for things like default sprint, armor abilities, loadouts, etc are the people that actually like halo reach, people that like cod, or they are already fanboys for a game that hasnt come out yet.
^Wrong^
Personally, I loved Reach. I mainly used sprint, but I loved the variety. I was pissed off about how crappy the AR is, and how most weapons are hitscan, not bullet travel.
At first, I was unsure about Halo 4. Then I got excited. Then I learned about weapon customization, that made me frown a bit.
Then I remembered how GoW implemented the weapon system without breaking the balance. I learned that we'll only start with the main weapons: Dmr, Br, AR, pistol, or carbine. So I'm like: this may work out.
But then I saw that we'd have 2 armor specializations, and that ticked me off. The whole idea behind every Halo series was that we all start on equal playing fields except on asymmetrical maps. Either way, we take same damage, movement, hp, ect. With these specializations, they change that. There's different HP regen, ammo, ect. Now, instead of getting killed by skill, the outcome of the battle resides on what perks you have. Stupid. 343i just aggravated me. Now Halo's like CoD but with shields.
Remember, I loved Reach, with a few exceptions, but I am not feeling great about Halo 4. Proves your point wrong.
God, I wish someone just hacked them and removed specializations from the damn game.
