Fall damage: "Refers to an aspect of video games, most often first-person shooters, in which a character's health is negatively impacted after falling from a significant height."

Do you, personally, think that fall damage should be incorporated into the third installment of the Halo series? (Remember to keep in mind that Halo did implement fall damage, while Halo 2 did not.)

I am voting for "Yes, in everything." Only because it adds to the realism and feels more like Halo (Combat Evolved.)

Essentially there is fall damage in the campaign. If you manage to fall off of something high enough that would kill you with fall damage, you usually just die anyway.

Fall damage was lame in Halo:CE. Always slowed the pace down cause someone would end up making a jump and injuring themselves. Then the hunt for healthpacks begins..... sigh.

True. But it isn't really "taking damage" ...you just die. Therefore I wouldn't refer to it directly as "fall damage."

This thread is a perfect example of how every question in history has been asked in this forum.

Perhaps fall damage, of about twenty-five in game feet.

If you want to talk about realism, how can a spartan with shields die or get hurt from a 20 ft fall. If you read the books, most of the spartan team survived a crash landing at terminal velocity. Also no fall damage adds another dimension and faster gameplay. If bungie implement fall damage it should only drain your shields at most, and not actually kill you.

OMG! OMG! OMG! It's Element Leaf! I mean...Sup?

Kidding. : ) Anyway, no fall damage. It slowed me down too much.

Oh, and TooFat is correct.

I'll be on my own side.

No, it makes no sense how you don't get hurt in Halo 2, but you're suddenly vulnerable to falls in Halo 3?

That's like taking out dual wielding. It makes no sense.

I never did like fall damage, in any game. Sure, I guess it could be more realistic, but it just gets in the way.

I vote no.

halo: combat evolved was good but halo 2 is much better for extreme players that have to get out of a bad situation. LIke needing to jump off a edge to not get shot. It would suck to jump off and die anyway just cuz of fall damage.

NO WAY.

if your a multi-ton weighing spartan that can flip a 66 ton tank over then I think you should be able to fall from 20ft without taking damage

I say no. In the book, 30 Spartans fall like thousands of feet, and only 4 die. Plus, there bones are stee-coated. Plus, if they made fall damage, they would have to change the levels a bit to where they don't require high-falls. The maps in Halo 2 were made without fall damage in mind, so they didn't have to worry about high-fall areas.
