Lockout for me has gotten to the point of just plain boring.

They should bring back Rat Race. It was perfect for strategy due to the shadows, and above tunnels to drop in on your enemies.

If the lighting in H3 is to be expected, Rat race would be completely revamped.

I have to say that I prefer large tactical maps to the smaller ones, especially if they have vehicles. At the moment I would have to say that terminal is my favourite map, probably because it is just such a fun one to play on. Then again I like any map which has a gauss hog on it.

Lockout is a cool map, but I think it is just a bit too frantic. Plus slayer games just tend to be about controlling on of the towers using battle rifles. I prefer a little variation on maps.

Do none of you have a sense of humour?
We do, this just isn't funny.

I prefer Objective games over Slayer, and i prefer Headlong over any map, but none of them are the favourites, so therefore, they will have to incorporate many different types of maps into halo 3 to keep everyone happy, either that, or keep Coag, and then make enw ones.

Yeah i thought the same think when i read that Bungie post. I guess it probably will be coming to Halo 3. I always kind of thought it would to be honest. They did make a good map and it seems a shame to not make the most of it.

However, i also think that Lockout isn't the best map i've ever played. I'd prefer to hear that either; Chill Out, Damnation or Hang'em High were coming to Halo 3. They were the real classics and the ones i most enjoyed and played tonnes of at LAN parties.

I think they did a good job bringing Blood Gulch, Battle Creek, Wizard and Longest to Halo 2, but i would have much preferred any of the other three i mentioned. Also, i think they changed both Blood Gulch and Longest for much the worse when they put them in Halo 2.

I just hope they keep Lockout with exactly the same layout as it is now - just change a few textures and lighting effects maybe to give it a refreshingly different feel.

I'd prefer to see Chill Out or Damnation over Lockout any day but Lockout is a great map and if it works well with Halo 3's gameplay, i'm happy.

My dream map selection for Halo 3 would include:

Chill Out, Damnation, Hang'em High, Lockout, Midship, Zanzibar and the original Blood Gulch.

Oh and if i had to choose between Halo 3 at all or The World Cup, i'd chose Halo 3 too. But if i had to chose between a completed Halo 3 now instead of next year, and The World Cup, i'd chose the The World Cup. England have a real chance this time i think. It will be very tough for anyone to beat Brazil though. Did you know that USA are ranked like 5th in the world at soccer/football by FIFA and yet have betting odds to win of 80/1? Not a bad bet.

Dude so what. Overwhelmingly hang em high was numerically and repeatedly shown to be the top prefered map of halo 1 and yet that made no return. Just because it is good or well liked doesn't mean they will put it it.

Though they often try to appease the populous with their polled favorites and intelligence on what we like there is always that possiblity that it will be dropped for incapatability reasons.

Though personally I'm hoping halo 3 has every map that has been featured in both pc and xbox versions of halo and halo 2. I wouldn't put this out of reach due to the capabilities of the 360 and the ovveriding factor that everyone of these maps has a fan base of sorts and even if the map were deemed less or not fun by many they can still just include it as an option for custom play.

So... he put that comment in there. To finish that paragraph. At that point. Just to 'appease the populous?'

Okay.... I think you're wrong. I think it's a pretty major indication (surpassed only with a clear announcement) that Lockout is coming back.

Time shall tell.

Lots of people hate Foundation, but I personally like it as the only way to win is to work as a team, not individuals. Most people act as individuals and enjoy just killing (hence team slayer), but I work with a team for the greater victory through tactics and strategy!

Foundation is awesome for swords matches (in my experience). Swords on foundation has become a staple game at all the LAN parties i go to. Running around and around in circles on the top bit is so funny.

Lockout is extremelly fun, especially in a Live custom match with one other person with a little gametype conconction called "Shotties n' Snipes" with no shields.

Hang 'Em High was one of my favorite maps in Halo, but i was in love with Sidewinder. I realize that Containment was sort of a remake of Sidewinder, but it doesn't have the same feel. I'd love to see the return of a more original-like Sidewinder.
And Chiron. -blam!- love that.
