Halo has been sabotaged; it had some elements that I consider futuristic then it lost them.

In CE, the hog was king. Ignoring it's invulnerability, you didn't have to worry about crashing into walls because the physics readjusted it. You could splatter just about anything that moved. It was very stable and didn't go flipping like a toy car. You could eject out of it and get on the gunner seat, fire the chain gun while dismounting, and get assassinations while getting out. Passengers and gunners would stay seated most of the time and you could get their attention by firing your gun. We could see the health of our passengers on our hud. And of course, first person passenger seat.

Then there's the Banshee. Had hover and Banshee strafing fights where the fuel rod gun was actually useful (instead of just being a ground bombardment weapon).

Even the CE scorpion, despite having terrible controls and horribly inaccurate cannon and machine gun, felt futuristic to me. Passenger seats could be used in Co-op, we could see the health of our passengers on our hud, and it was good for splattering.

They were downgraded in H2/H3. Some things returned in ODST (hover, Co-op Scorpion passenger seat) and some things returned in Reach (splatter with the scorpion) but never again would we see reliable returning vehicles.

But still, there's a certain Charm to Halo weaponry. I would rather dispatch my enemies with bullets and brute force rather than lasers or plasma. Even then, there's something elegant and graceful about bullets. It's my hope that humans never replace them.

Kinda my feelings. In MP, if I'm playing a spartan I'll go toward human weapons, an Elite? covie ones. I just don't feel right in halo 3 lugging a carbine around as a Spartan :P. (Most of the time. If it's all there is I'll use it.)

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

We have more advanced assualt rifles today. Even the M16 is comparable in accuracy, power for the Halo AR is hard to judge but...

Lol no, Ars use big ass bullets. And don't brs use 9mm rounds???

The M16 packs more or less the same punch than a MA5B, kinetic energy I believe.

No, nowhere close.

Wrong. M16/M14 are comparable to MA5B and MA5C.

So yes, Halo Weapons are no better than modern weapons.

On Waypoint I'm rocketFox;

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

Theres a pretty simple explanation for why the UNSC has weaponry and vehicles that look familiar.

Explanation; Because they look familiar.

It simply helps distinguish between the Covenant and UNSC groups. Bullets fly one way, and plasma/energy flies the other. Wheeled/tracked green vehicles barrel one way and floating purple vehicles come from the other direction.

It's not out of laziness and it's not from lack of imagination. It's a calculated decision to do so. If both sides had plasma weaponry then it would be hard to work out which side is which.

I find it funny how people compare fictional worlds against real life and then criticise the fictional world. It's not real, it's science fiction.
