Do all of your friends have the same copy of halo? Because if you do, yes it will say CD key invalid. You will all need seperate copies of halo. Seeing as how i've never played a LAN game, thats all i have to offer. If you want to play a game with them, just host a internet game with a password.

Yeah, someguy's right.

The User's License Agreement clearly states that you may only install one copy of Halo (along with every other PC game) on one computer. The CD-key invalid warning was probably because you had the same copy of HPC installed on different computers.

the reason this would happen is because of:

You have given your cd key out and someone is already playing with that cd key.

You are using a Illegal copy of halo. When you use a illegal halo copy along with a no cd patch you get an issue of someone else is already stolen it or bungie has block that cd key. So you will be able to play but when bungies computers get that cd key or w/e happens to stop it. You get kick of that server and because their isn't a cd key kick error it gives you a random one like banned kick or game closed down.

I don't get why people will steal a 20 dollar game.
