From the easy 300K days of 2008 to the barely 100K days of 2012. what has happened? Reach scared off a lot of fans. I love all Halo games (yes, even HW. its the only decent console RTS other than C&C: RA 3...but that's a different forum) sadly, my halo experience began 9/14/12, when i finally got xbl and an FPS (after having the X360 since dec 2005 lol). when a friend of mine (who has since abandoned console gaming for PC, i'm thinking of doing the same) let me borrow ODST and H2V and CE PC...I realized that Bungie had made something special with those games. Even ODST. Reach was it's farewell, sadly it was a bad one. now look. reach seems to get less fun everyday, h3 is so much fun but under populating everyday, H2V (all that's left of a great game) is a POS, worst PC FPS ever, and has slowly gone down to a total population of 12. CEA was sorta a revival, but it's all over now.
on the bright side, H4 has the highest amount of pre-orders of any game. at all. but sadly, becuase 343 is just another M$ tool (much like DICE and EA) they're adding all this pay extra bs, and taking stuff from CoD. sadly, CoD is the most popular thing in gaming, so they r going to take some stuff from CoD to make more money.
I wish i had xbl and h3/2 b4 2011 so i could experience Halo in its prime.
A new halo era awaits..but how will it turn out?

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

No,

Alot of other great games out there like COD, BF3, GOW and more.

Some people like to play other games.

Yes, the REACH population is alot less to the population of Halo 3, after the same amout of timeafter release.

But remeber if there is only 30,000 people online. If you were to have 30,000 people all at one place playing Halo, is still alot of people, and you only need 16 people to play BTB.

I'm most people are excited about Halo 4. But you will know after a few months if people will stick around.

But then, most people preferred Halo 3 to REACH MP, i do. But I still play REACH.

And for Halo 2 stats. Halo 2 had no other competitors unless you had a PC. Halo 2 ruled the Xbox Live screen untill Hal o3 came out.

Not even GOW on 360 could knock Halo 2 of it's Number 1 spot.

Yes halo, as well as all of xbox and video games in general. This is what happens when greed and the masses takes precedence. The stock holders have spoken,(more money is all that matters, quality is only important enough to make it addictive) and the masses just want the eziest and cheapest way to, camp, manipulate spawns, and spawn kill. So the masses have spoken, and they say baaaa baaaa and scream fence us in we are the sheep here us bleat! Near the end of bungies control of reach, they listened to my opinions and made atleast a few skill based balanced playlists. Soon as 343 took over it was time to cater to the masses and poop on all the elite gamers. Examples, they changed arena and took away tu squad slayer,(which was almost perfect, just needed to take away cloak, or just give us a social arena playlist). I wont be buying halo 4. I will try it at a friends house see how much 343 destroyed it, and take it from there.
Here is skunkoz signing off and wishing for the days of skill based balanced matchmaking to return.

I can't see Halo's popularity declining below what it already is, H4 is likely to salvage it.

(To discuss Halo 4.)

Halo 4 preorders are 250,000 ahead of what Reach's preorder numbers were the same amount of weeks before release.

So no, unless they screw up major in the next 10 years, I see it increasing dramatically.

Only those who stick with something for long enough can they get better at it. Halo Reach admittedly has the longest learning curve out of any Halo Game, as you literally have to learn how to how to use and adapt to each AA that is being used in-game. And it often changes as some players alternate between different AA's mid-game, skill is applied in being able to react differently and immediately to the situation... which is why I still find Reach enjoyable after all these years.

No, Halo isn't dying.

Reach is dying.

Makes you wonder why 343 are building off a terrible game.
