H2 is a completely different game from H1, in H1, gameplay was more sedated, you took your time traversing the rather large maps and taking careful, measured actions. In H2, the maps are noticeably tighter and the gameplay more frenetic. Wherase in H1 you could consistently do bombing runs using a banshee, in H2, you constantly have to watch your tail for the dreaded "beep-beep-beep" of a locked-on rocket.
With that in mind, things like taking out the health bar make more sense, making it more consistent with the new, more frenetic gameplay. The health bar is still there, you just don't see it, and it regenerates over time like the shield bar. Vehicles DO have the option in H2Xbox to be either invincible and recyclable or to be destructible.
As for things like devcon and VoIP, I'll be suprised if they don't implement this, seeing that it's the de-facto standard in modern games. For now, I'm assuming those are givens.
Online 4-player co-op will be interesting, but impractical in the actual campaign. It would be, quite simply, too easy. Although it would be nice if they had something like a "defend the base" gametype.
What, exactly would be used to balance the Elites being able to use Active Camo on-demand? And what are the benefits? "I thought I was playing Halo, not Splinter Cell!"
Yes, internet optimization! If I spend 30 a month on a fast connection, I expect my games to, you know, run smoothly.
