I also hate it the first shots I make on the head are all perfect. But then to get that last shot to kill takes like 3 times because of bloom. I find Zero Bloom to be more easy but They took it off and I hate MLG.

I have no problems with Bloom.

But would had been perfect, if bullets spread was not random.

ie) when bullets bloomes, bullets only hit edge.

Refer to this vid for example. This is how Bloom should be implemented. If it was like this, it would be great.

they should replace it with reticule bounce. Your reticule should randomly bounce around the screen when you walk or run and bop up and down when you shoot. Also for kenect players music recognition should come into play so that it can bump up and down in rhythm with whatever your listening to.

bungie has proven that a bunch of monkeys sitting in front of keyboards can randomly type out a masterpiece. the thing is, when you go to play the masterpiece, you cant help but notice all the monkey s**t smeared all over it.

it gets real old having to wait months for someone like mlg to clean off all the monkey poo.

i like it because i cant aim. the more i pull the trigger, the wilder my shots go and the more likely they are to hit since im aiming nowhere near my target.

imo, its the best thing to happen to halo since they decided that punches should make all the gun damage you've done to someone simply dissappear.

Yeah, that was called the TU update. And 343 was scared out of their minds out of losing casuals (sorry to all normal casuals. I mean 10-year old COD-boys), so they put it in "Super Slayer", and make it super rare too, just to make sure it didn't interfere with casual gameplay.

bloom would be cool if it didnt affect bullet trajectory. As in, the reticule will expand and contract completely before firing again becomes possible.

Bloom wasn't a good idea because it's completely random and it's for noobs. Have you ever asked yourself why the kids who were so terrible in halo 3 are now better at Halo Reach? The skill gap is smaller compared to the other Halos. Zero bloom made it bigger but it still isn't on the same level with Halo 2 and 3s skill gap.

Reach wasn't meant to have zero bloom and even zero bloom has its faults but it's way better than bloom.

Personally I hate the fact that they are bringing it back for the dmr in H4. 85% bloom is still random. It resets faster on BTB than it does on Arena.

It's completely broken and the only fix available is zero bloom. Even if the bloom of the dmr resets faster on H4 it will once again be a catering for the noobs to kill the skilled player.

It's retarted and for that sole reason I'm using the BR all the time. I will not even care about getting out dmr'd as long as the dmr has bloom and randomness.

How does that reasoning even apply to most people? There are plenty who are good at Halo 2/3 and still just as good at Reach. Same with bad people.
People need to stop trying to make it seem like everything is a crutch for skill.
If you're bad or good at most shooters, no hand holding or game mechanics can really make up for that.

You probably just need better hand eye coordination.

So how many people here, think Halo is a game all about 1v1 encounters? Raise your hands.

1 versus 1 = Bloom is random and favors noobs.
(according to pro players)

2 Versus 1 = Bloom is no longer the issue.
(A concept that goes in one ear and out the other)

Someone throws a grenade = Bloom is no longer the issue.
Someone picks up a sniper rifle = Bloom is no longer the issue.
Someone picks up a shotgun = Bloom is no longer an issue.
Someone uses anything other than a DMR to battle with = BLOOM IS NO LONGER AN ISSUE!

For those of you trying to fight the view points of these idiots. Learn to do it correctly..yeah?

The simple hard truth is, they are crying about 1 offensive tool out of many. Because they only want to master 1 weapon that can do everything and can't be bothered with anything remotely related to a rock-paper-scissors team oriented gameplay. They all think they should be able to single handedly fulfill all roles themselves so they can carry everyone on their team and then come on a forum and talk down to everyone about it. But can't seem to realize that Class based gameplay is far more interesting and engaging than having a game revolve around everyone, everywhere, spamming 1 Weapon 99% of the time...making Halo one of the boringest games on the face of the planet today.

Look at any competitive video, and this is what it boils down too. Everyone runs for a sniper and if they can't get that, they just spam the -blam!- out of a DMR the entire match.

My question to you competitive -blam!-heads is this....

Why should any of the other weapons even exist?

You ask what is more interesting to watch?

A Top level competitive gameplay vid in which all you'll see is DMR spam the entire time, with the occasional person crutching through with a sniper.

OR

A Gameplay vid of a bunch of randoms who are willing to try out the rest of the sandbox of weapons.

I'd rather spectate the randoms, thank you.



OH and BTW, if you're going to inb4 me.. Try at least matching my size. Because your virtual dick is to small to even do any damage.

BTW, for any of those out there that still believe bloom is the issue. I want you to look at the video at the bottom of Kira's video share.

If you don't come to the conclusion that there is something else entirely wrong with the game in relation to auto-aim + Bullet magnetism then you're an idiot.

Bloom is not the issue. Bloom just magnifies the underlying issue. And the video with the Assault Rifle(NOT THE DMR) is just another example that bloom was NEVER the issue.

My reticule turns red, it's a hit. That is the issue. Do it with any other weapon that doesn't suffer from your so called Bloom mechanics.

Just barely put the reticule on the person so that it turns red but 99% of it is aiming at thin air. What does that have to do with bloom? Bloom just expands the reticule making it easier to get a red reticule and take advantage of the UNDERLYING ISSUE. But that does not mean something is wrong with bloom. Bloom is working as intended. AUTOAIM and MAGNETISM IS NOT!

BTW, thank you for making that video Kira. It was one of the first that I've seen that has some solid evidence to show the real issue behind everyones hatred for bloom. I thank you for using any weapon other than the DMR to prove it too.
