Subject: Thoughts on Reticle Bloom

I ♥ Bungie!

I don't like it when I'm trying to get a headshot from far away.

Bloom is 1 problem.

Auto-aim + magnetism is an other.

Both are problems but one could function correctly without the other.
Having both at the same time gives us what we have in Reach.

I won't bite too much on your posts, we've already known for a long time you're simply doing this for your own personal amusement to get some rage out of people.
I'll just sit back and enjoy the show.

You're saying you enjoy dog -blam!-?

Whip cream or not, it's this dog -blam!- and in this case, it's probably dog -blam!- flavoured whipped cream.

I love this pop-corn.

No really...

Let's compare something a second.

Halo has a quitting problem.
Retards blame the quitters instead of matchmaking.

Halo has a bloom problem.
Retards blame bloom instead of autoaim + Bullet Magnetism.

All I want out of you people, is to stop attacking things at face value and go after the root cause of your issues.

You seem to be under the impression that one problem cannot exist without the other.

People quit due to a poorly implemented MM system.
Lack of any real form of punishment adds to this problem.

And thus you are trying to kill the messenger because you believe that it is a punishable offense to quit out of a match.

IT'S NOT!

Nobody is paying me to play this game. I PAYED TO PLAY! So I get to choose how, when and where I play it. Not you, not Bungie. And if Bungie or any other developer out there decides to take the stance of being too controlling over the end product. They can meet the same fate.

I couldn't care less in social cluster-blam!- games if someone quit.

But in ranked games, there should be a form of punishement for quitting.

Not that I was expecting you to use a little bit of common sense.

Imagine if you went to Redbox, and you tried to rent a movie from it. Hoping the movie wasn't already sold out at that particular kiosk.

When you got home and popped it in the DVD drive, it popped up a message saying:

You can only watch this between the hours of 5pm to 9pm, you must watch it with closed captioning, You must watch it from beginning to end, because the DVD will only play once and will then destroy itself upon ejecting from your DVD player. In some rare cases DVD's have been known to destroy themselves while still in the player. We are not responsible for any damages incurred while attempting to watch this DVD.

This would be equivalent to what Matchmaking is under slightly different contexts. It's a draconian peice of -blam!- spawn of a -blam!- retard. That should have aborted.

Instead you let it grow up... and now it has taken over many other games I enjoy.(WH40K - DoW, suffers from matchmaking) Where I no longer get a list of rooms to choose from. I'm instead forced to rely on some mysterious behind the scenes math algorithm, with very little transparency... or even filters worth a damn.

Thank you for taking browsers away from me, and making me rely on the Big Red Easy Button.... -blam!- simpletons.

This is also your problem with bloom. Because the "BIG RED EASY BUTTON" is what's forcing you to play the gametypes and settings that are pissing you and everyone else off. If they stuck with what the PC was doing for YEARS. Everyone would have done fixed the game already and there would be many MANY communities revolving around hosted dedicated servers with their own flavors of gamesettings.

It's all related with one underlying truth. Matchmaking is the ULTIMATE EVIL, that causes all other problems with this game.

Now that some of you have basically turned me into a celebrity.
I'm pretty sure I have your attention.

Posted by: MR E0SI have to spend half an hour finding a server for Battlefield 3 that doesn't force me to use nothing but a sniper or something stupid like that. I just want default BF3, and I don't want to spend a long ass time finding a game only for it to end soon after because I joined at the end of the game.

Stop saying that servers are a godsend. They're not.

If it takes you that long to find a room worth playing in. That is not a problem with a server browser environment. That is a problem with how you set your filters or... the filters are not robust enough.... or maybe nobody likes playing what you play. Which is why you prefer matchmaking, because it forces people to play your retarded preference.

And I'd much rather take that half hour to find a worthy room to play in, as opposed to constantly being dumped and locked into a room with a bunch of retards on retarded game.

Quality > Quantity in this case. And Good things come to those who wait. Quality, takes time. If you want to spend only 30 seconds before you get dumped into a match. Then you can expect the quality of those matches to be just about equal to the amount of time spent looking for it.

Correction. The Ultimate Evil is actually...

STAT TRACKING.

Matchmaking was built around the concept of stat tracking.

So thus, the Ultimate Evil is actually....

COMPETITIVE PLAYERS!

Because competitive players want to jerk off to numbers.

I am here, because of the influence this game has on the industry. Some of those influences were bad. And it's spreading... "Big Red Easy Button Matchmaking Service" is finding itself in way to many games these days.

Just like I'm trying to get you people to attack the cause instead of the symptoms. I too am attacking the cause. Halo 2 started matchmaking. Bungie, started matchmaking.

I am here to save the future of multiplayer gaming for ALL GAMES!

That and I'm banned from the other site till... well who cares.

The quit ban being added on top of the ultimate evil, is what makes me choose this particular forum. That and it's the most recent Flagship of the Mother of Satans spawn.

Because I have faith that one day you will pull your head out of whoevers ass you currently have it shoved in.

So I guess that makes me retarded. Because my faith has been ill placed. It's never going to happen.

I edit my post to correct certain mispellings and add things to make it clearer for people who might come in later for a little insight. I can't help it you people want to jump all over it within seconds and think once something is posted it should never be touched again... that's your problem, not mine.

Maybe if you could learn to debate someone without having to quote every step of the way.. it wouldn't matter. Because most people who know how to read and plan on attacking someone elses point of view are naturally going to read over the peice many times anyway. So.... what's it matter if I add something to it?

I'm the only person posting anything worth reading in this thread at the moment, so anything you say has no bearing on the chronological order in which arguments or points are brought up anyway.

That's funny, because that's exactly what's happening to me in BF3. In a server browsing environment. I can't use the quick match function without getting put in a bad server. I just want to find a quick game before I have to go somewhere, and I don't want to play something stupid. I can do that with MM, I can't with BF3's server system.

How about we get quality without searching for it for hours? Things like, you know, MM and Customs? I can play MM for quality games, or I can play with friends using custom settings. Customs will take longer, but I'll get what I want. Oh wait, I forgot, getting friends makes too much sense.

Yeah, because I pay for an XBox live subscription to be limited to my friends list, or adding a bunch of randoms to that friends list.....

That makes sense right.

That most server browser games are basically the same thing as Customs MM without the need to add a bunch of random strangers to a list so that they can spam you with invites when you're not interested..

A whole lot of sense.

Take the Pibs list as an example.
I have to use an external website to cover something that most PC games handle within the confines of the game.
Even if I did add any of the people from that list, after a couple of games, they are most likely going to be removed from the list... becasue I find playing the same opponents over and over again very boring.

Xbox Live is supposed to give me access to MILLIONS of potential opponents, not hundreds. Otherwise, there is no point in paying for it.

Oh no! This dude said my stats are bad! What can I do?! I wish I had a magic button that muted him so I didn't have to listen to him!

Oh, but then what would I do on the internet?! If only I could block messages to where I couldn't read them!

Oh, but what if I didn't know how to do any of that?! I can't just ignore him, can I?!

Wow you certainly missed the point I was making for the whole stat tracking influencing the way matchmaking treats the entire community and locks them into rooms unable to quit because you'll ruin some stat padders enjoyment of the game.

Yeah, because there totally aren't thousands of communities you can join to play customs with, right? And you can't invite randoms from MM to play customs with, right?

But that would take social skills!
