Subject: Will Cortana become the villain in the new Halo Trilogy?

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

I would guess that she will likely end up stabilized by some Forerunner technology in the end.

I just don't really see how that could work. She's just not villian material

I'll bring up a point here. Logically speaking, Cortana is based off of Halsey's brain, hence their similarities.

In 343i's "story-so-far," if you will, Halsey has turned from a strong, intelligent, and proud woman into a weak, idiotic, and moody villain.

Therefore, I can assume that having Cortana do the same wouldn't be too much of a stretch for them. After all, they want to integrate the books with the games - and Dr. Catherine "Mengele" Halsey was a prominent character in their first book.

It's not that I'm crazy... It's just that, you're not as far out there as I am.

She will either become rampant and Halo 6 will end with the Chief having to put down her most beloved friend, or she will achieve metastability and live on.

I think at some point Chief is going to have to deal with her rampancy. Will it be similar to 343 Guilty Spark? Who knows, it's possible. I think since they're exploring their characters and their relationship, I think dealing with her rampancy will be incredibly difficult for the Chief and cause them to really delve into their character. It has too much potential to pass up.

Yes yes and yes.

I think her due rampancy will be a good point of character development for Chief, but I believe she will, somehow overcome it.
Possibly the events of her rampancy will be playing in the background of the new trilogy, maybe a level devoted her having a spell of rampancy here, a cut-scene in which she shuts down temporarily there, but eventually I think she will deal with it, by overcoming it or finding a fix, or she'll inevitably die.
Either way, much needed game-time character development for Chief.
