Then I will officially hate Bungie. One of the big reasons I *kinda* liked Halo 2 was the ease of communication. If we have to keep typing out messages to our teammates like on Halo 1, then I'll become emo.

How could this happen to me?
I've made my mistakes
I've got no where to run
The night goes on
As I'm fading away
I'm sick of this life
I just wanna scream
How could this happen to me?

Emm... wtf?

IF Halo 2 PC does have voice chat, I want... wait, let me rephrase that... I need... wait... let me rephrase that again... I DEMAND an option to disable it.

Or I play without sound, not kidding!

Where in God's name have you been? Emo Halo players? Just play contionously on Xbox Live's matchmaking system and you'll find emo people all right.

But seriously, was this spammed thread necessary? They obviously will have VOIP-support and probably an option to disable it as well.

Why does it matter, you can't find a Team Speak server or Ventrilo server to play in

Hell, x-fire has built in chat , and everyone (cool) has x-fire :P

Honestly, it'd me an unesscesary feature, and would just lag down the server for those who chose not to use it ;)

Think, Halo 2 has it, why wouldn't a port to the pc?

Using a 3rd party VOIP program would lag the game much more than a built-in one would.

I don't like using TeamSpeak or Ventrilo in Halo because it's a huge hassle to say, "okay guys, the IP is 389:3167:124867, the port is 2819, blah blah blah blah".

Xfire? Xfire's chat lags even more than TS or Vent.

Because that was essentially a feature of Xbox Live, not Halo 2. PC's dont have anything like Xbox Live, so that's why I'm concerned as to whether (sp?) we'll be getting VOIP.

I think you should be able to have it, but should be able to choose between team and all players chat, and you should be able to mute people.

Here's how it works on Xbox Live. When you play a free-for-all game, anybody can hear what you say, and you can hear what they say. When you play a team game, only your teammates can hear what you say, but if an enemy is close, they can hear it too, and you can hear them talk if you're close enough. That's proximity audio. It works pretty well, and they'll probably have a similar or better system on H2PC.
