Subject: Ads in the Classifieds

I was wondering; is there any kind of limit on how many threads (for one group) one can post in a certain time span in the classifieds? I would assume if there are no ads for your group on the front page you can make ONE but visiting the classifieds sometimes you can see 3 or more ads for the same group on the same page.

Not a massive deal but in the end some groups will have a higher chance of being seen when they post multiple ads in a short time span.

I think you can post an ad if one isn't currently on the first page, at least I seem to remember a moderator posting something like that.

EDIT: When I look at The Classifieds I often see multiple threads for a single group, although it could just be that nobody is reporting it to the moderators. I don't think it is a big deal really.

Last I heard, this was the rule. If you have anymore than 1 thread on the front page that's a big no-no. Hence when you reply to a thread in that forum, it doesn't bump it.

aside from what anthony and spawn mentioned, how desparate do you want your group to be seen by those that view the ads ?
by having more than one on front page it makes your group seem rather desparate, which also makes me and possibly others think that the quality of that group isn't all that good.

if you are having trouble recruting, other than posting in the classifieds, sending PMs also works, though i would be careful who you send them to and why. what i mean by that is before you send a recruiting PM to someone research her/his history and see if they fit your group, maybe even look at the groups that they are in already, you'll be able to learn their interests that way too (to a point o_O).

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Someone (I think Foman) mentioned that the general, fair-use of posting advertisements to the Classifieds was about one thread per page. Which is reasonable, of course.

Now it's obviously not that big of a deal if a group has more than one advertisements there, however, I'm sure it's against the rules somewhere. Contact a moderator to clarify or report.

As stated, the general rule-of-thumb is to avoid having more than one advertisement on a given page. Occasionally it happens where people are uncoordinated and both advertise their group at the same time and we're understanding so long as it doesn't become a problem.

Yeah, that's pretty much the rule of thumb we follow. Thanks :-)

I was simply asking out of interest and had no intention of posting multiple ads on one page.
Edit: And thanks for letting me know, guys!
