I was wondering if anyone knew if Halo 2 will still feature the 16 person system link games with only 4 boxs cause i kno we have spent hundreads of hours doing so in my basement and hopefully the tradition will move on to halo 2

If someone knows for sure please respond have searched up and down and havent found anything

I'm alone, where is my microphone.

There better be, but all bungie said is that you can hook up 16 boxes for 16 players. So we still are clueless if you can have 4 boxes with 4 people on each.

I think we better start making a lot of noise about this while the game is still in production. I have seen nothing saying you can play more than one player per box. I could see M$ pushing for this so that more people sign up for Live. hence more money. But I think they would be underestimating what made Halo so big, lan parties. Not everyone has fast enough uploads for multiplayer games and if you want to get a bunch of friends together you aren't going to have as much fun if you're not together at a house or whatever.

Good point nolite. The lan parties did make Halo cool, if i have to buy 14 xboxes so i can have a lan party i probly aint gonna go out and buy'em. 4 was resonable for a 16 player lan party, but 16 x'boxs to support 16 players is a little ridiculous (cash-wise for us)

That also means 16 tvs, halo games, 16 system link cables, 4 routers or hubs etc

I'm sure Bungie wouldn't pull something like that on us. The LAN parties were something thar really made Halo fun. If they were to take that out, a couple million people that play weekly LAN parties every week will become very angry.

But who knows, maybe they think LIVE will fill the gap somehow.

i think bungie is going to push it up to 32 peaople in mp. 8 tvs, one 8 port hub, 8 xbox and 32 controllers seems liken enough for me.

I'm a freshmen in college and playing halo on the college network is incredible. Since the whole school is connected to the same ethernet network, all you have to do is plug the xbox into the wall and look for games. The inter-dorm games rivalries are awesome. We would never play halo if we had to play it over live, with one person to a box.

I know that this is a major issue for most people out there and I totaly agree... I know that if there is not going to be the option to play split screen on LAN and on Live! then I might not even get the game... I don't think that it would be fair to us if it wasn't in the game... I don't know how many people they can get on split screen for Live! but if there isn't a split screen option for Live! many people might not get the game for that reason either... I know that I want split screen for 4 people on Live! and anything less would really suck... But I could deal with two... But if it is only one person per xbox I know I won't be getting Halo 2...

I've heard rumors of 32 player games can anyone confirm this?

if you read everything from E3 they are saying 16 player Live! and 16 xboxs on a LAN game so that everyone has there own screen... They said they were hoping on 32 player but they don't know if it is going to happen... But the whole reason for this topic is the question of will there be four player split screen... does anyone know an anwser to that one and a link to where the information is...

That is so awesome! I have the same thing, except in High School. We have 3,000 kids in our school. All I have to do is to plug it in the wall, and look for people to play. Maybe i can convince my school to have a huge multiplayer fragfest, over the summer. That would be so awesome!

Again, I thnk we need to make a lot of noise so either one, Frankie puts our minds to rest in an update or two, they talk about it in a magazine article. If they were to do only one per xbox I don't think they realize the fan base they would lose. Bungie even a lot of us that do have broadband don't have enough upload to play large multiplayer games. This is a trend around the country for providers to limit upload to 250. If they don't make this split screen then it won't be any different than any other good single player game.
