Is Chakas 343 guilty spark?

  • 06.19.2012 9:36 PM PDT

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Yes.

  • 06.19.2012 9:56 PM PDT

Thank you

  • 06.20.2012 9:30 AM PDT

If good looks could kill, I'd be a weapon of mass destruction.

Q: Hey, what did Hitler say to the black jew?
A: Get to the back of the oven.

Not exactly. It's more of the other way around.

343 Guilty Spark is an offshoot of Chakas.

Chakas is a greater monitor, Spark is a lesser.

  • 06.20.2012 10:53 AM PDT

Could you please elaborate?

  • 06.20.2012 11:45 AM PDT

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

He got turned into a monitor, but, one part of him became Guilty Spark while the rest kind of stayed as another, greater monitor.

  • 06.20.2012 11:59 AM PDT

Ahhh, very confusing, never would have understood that my self. Thanks

Actually, like what Snake said, 343 Guilty Spark is one of many different fragments of Chakas. The Monitor in Primordium IS Chakas and he even mentions Spark separately.

I am alpha, i am omega.

I am the last of the primes.

Yes, except that he is not immortal and still can die even if his shards are not harmed.

This would explain why Spark doesn't remember his human self.

Well, technically Spark doesn't have a human self. I get what you're saying, but I still think there is an inherent difference.

Yeah I understand.

This is similar to how it works when a human brain is used to make a UNSC Smart AI.

Exactly. Likewise, I doubt Cortana would have Halsey's memories, but she did know the word's Halsey's mom said to her in Italian after they played chess.

I would imagine the memories aren't all important unless priorities said so.

So a Smart AI that's programmed to be a memory base of the brain it was made from would use the memories more often.

Cortana also says a lot of lines Halsey says in Halo 3, when you have a Cortana moment.

She does have Halsey's memories, Halo Legends the Package reveals that some of Halsey's dialogue was stated by Cortana (Halsey sucked, yes I agree).

Also, I believe that it was stated somewhere, I can't remember where...

It's also possible though, in Spark's case, that the fragments were altered and any of Chakas' memories would be deleted. After all, he did know some heavy stuff a Halo Monitor shouldn't know.

This is what I think, the fact that the Composer also had a function that helped keep the Flood at bay in infected hosts would have been sensitive information.

It could also be that his memory was corrupted as he slowly became rampant over time.

Or simply lost to compartmentalization.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

In one of the CEA terminals we hear him begin to mention something about being a fragment, but he never finishes his thought.

Members here dont get banned.

They just go missing in action.

It's kind of like how Cortana can split parts of her off and have some stay in the memory banks.

No! No! I refuse to believe Halo: Legends happened.

Chakas is like a cake. Probably a chocolate cake. 343 is a piece of that cake, but it was left out in the sun for 100,000 years and went bad. The rest of Chakas was probably kept in the freezer, so he's alright.

Great metaphor is great.
