Humans made the mistake of Unleashing the flood.

Covenants hated the Humans for unleashing the ARCH Enemy of the Forerunners: Covenants Gods, and delaying their "GREAT JOURNEY"

Gravemind/Flood Let Chief and Arbiter Live. Why? They are the most capable heroes of each camp...they are the voice. They will be heard and they are a force to be reckoned with if the Prophets really want to activate the halos. He let both live to give himself time to figure out where is earth and how to get there...through cortana and by her "driving" the covenant homeworld to earth, to get past its defenses and all.

The ark. its on earth. In bible its a vessel that contained every kind of living thing on the planet. well guess what...if gravemind gets there literally all of the TYPES OF SENTIENT RACES mentioned on the BOOK and the game is THERE. Humans, Flood, and the whole covenant specie. they are all on the ark to go onto the GREAT JOURNEY....

but where? and how? well...if the great journey was to continue...virtually all sentient life on the universe (except flood) SHOULD BE ON THE ARK (to survive) and then the halo's should be activated to make sure no flood nor food for them is left. This is the intention of the covies. The ark is a vessel...taking everything on it to the great journey that is where the forerunners thrive...nirvana.

why gravemind wants to get there? eat and assimilate everything on there, gather even more knowlege and power...activate the halo that would kill everything except him because he is on the ark himnself...and embark on the great journey to take on the forerunner with his self built abomination. He is getting there not to primarily annihalte humans or covies..those are sub missions to grander plots he has in mind...

Gravemind is trying to get to the ark to "end the world", not just "defy gods and demons" but to "finish the fight" they started ,and embark on a revenge millions of years in the waiting.

Who will stop him? Chief, Arbiter, Covenants, UNSC, Halsey and her remaining spartans on a secret mission, and the HALO's themselves.......before its all too late for all of them to realize whats REALLY happening.

Absolute Power and Revenge of the Flood Over the most dominant Beings on the Universe....the Forerunners.

Gravemind saved the Chief and the Arbiter as a distraction so he could use In Amber Clad to transport the Flood.
To kill Gravemind the Chief should blow up High Charity.

Not if i'd base this theory on many theories that was presented on this forum and based form the book and game. Humans discovered flood first...maybe even long tyime ago.

i even suspect that the whole spartan project was based on mixing Flood and Human DNA. to creat subjects like 117 and other spartans. Ever wonder why johnson and mendez and the way they are? first gen of spartans? unbelievably resileint b@stards?

i take one step forward. John 117 is a mix of Halsey and Flood DNA. Just imagine the advantages of being able to "perfect" this mix and combine it with the mjolnir armor. but this is a whole new other topic.

chief ISNT on high charity anymore.

quote" wasent it the covenant that freed the flood ? i do belive gravemind has his own agenda its obivious but i dont think its related to the journey."

gravemindf, i believe, is actually all about the great journey but has a different agenda concerning it...not to bask on the glory of the Forerunners but to destroy and FINALLY "FINISHING THE FIGHT" that have started millions of years ago.

The Spartan project was based on stealing kids, replacing them with fast-grown flash clones and augmenting them with bio-enahancements which didn't include altering their DNA. A lot of what makes a Spartan so strong isn't even part of their own bodies. The armor enhances all their actions, making them a lot stronger.

As to what you said. He moved out of that enormous hole and climbed out and hitched a to High Charity. He is obviously mobile. The knowledge that wish to acquire is where he is going to end up next, and how much fight he will put up without any of his children to help.

  • 06.11.2006 12:00 AM PDT

How mobile do you have to be to teleport yourself?

Ha! I cannot believe that I forgot he teleported. That is sad isn't it? He was crawling up the elevator shaft when attempting to interrogate Cortana, so he has to have somewhat mobile abilities.

  • 06.11.2006 12:08 AM PDT

Yes, so I believe it would be futile to engage him in one to one combat

Do not underestimate the Chief! All he would need for back up is Chuck Norris, then the Flood would be seriously screwed.

What about the Arbiter?

Well, if Spec-Ops Leader manages to capture the Covenant Cruiser from the Brutes, then that gives all the remaining forces on Halo a ride. That means finding the Master Chief and sort the whole mess out. I'll bet once they leave Halo, the first thing is to assess the situation at the abandoned High Charity of which they meet up with a nasty surprise. Then maybe they'll rush to warn everyone. Just speculation, mind you.

Humans did not initially release the Flood from Delta Halo. The Covenant did..again, because the Arbiter deactivated the shield that contains them. That allows the humans to move in, and gave them a ride namely In Amber Clad. As of now, Gravemind is in the position to be calling all the shots, leading the Flood.

Howhoy, that is possibly the worst theory ever. Seriously. Worst then FEIHC RETSAM. Please play the game for a First time before posting. The Gravemind let the Arbiter and Master Chief live, because he needed them. They were the only ones who could stop the Halo's from being activated and destroying all capable flood hosts, starving him to death. Plus, he gained access to In Amber Clad, and from there, High Charity. With High Charity's slip space drive, and massive amounts of flood, he could easily destroy the Earth.
