Every now and then, I'll be writing a reply to someone, be it a private message or response on a forum, and when I hit submit, I get the popup from WLID saying something along the lines of "are you sure you want to browse on this unencrypted blah blah blah... something about certificates lah dee dah". I'll try and copy/paste the actual message if it happens again. The point is, that when this pain-in-the-arse message crops up after hitting submit, I lose everything I wrote and am brought back to a blank post page. It's infuriating; I shouldn't have to copy my entire post just in case it times out and I lose it all.

Anyone else noticing this?

I think it depends on the browser you're using. I notice this it does send you to a hotmail live sign in page and then back to bungie.net, but it happens quickly so some might not even notice it. Usually it happens when I come back from lunch break.

Are you using Firefox? I use Chrome right now and I still get sent to Windows Live and back, but I am not prompted with a screen to confirm a certificate.

Yeah, I'm using Firefox and the same thing happens to me.

Indeed, Firefox up in this female dog.

Thing is, if it sends you to the LiveID page, do you lose what your wrote as well? Or is it just with the certificate prompt?

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Usually what happens is that with time your "session" times-out and it automatically redirects you to "login.live.com". From what I recall, I'm pretty sure it passes along what you are submitting; though however, I could be wrong.

Windows Live ID sessions have a maximum age. At the end of this limit, they try an auto refresh your session (depending on how long it has been since the session expired). That auto refresh can easily cause you to lose any data you were entering.

The session is loooong, so it is likely the only reason you'd be experiencing this is if you clicked the box that said "Save my password". Side effects of doing that include this issue, poor security, forgetting your password, and general scorn from me.

That's code for you should not use the remember password function.

I use the remember password and email function, I don't think I have manually logged off since I joined.

I never click that box, just don't trust it. Although most of the time my computer will just go on sleep mode but still be running WLID (since I didn't close my browser) so when I get back, it auto refreshes the session.

Either way, scorn is had.

I've always used the save password feature.
