Do you think they're planning an announcement for their new game this year or next? Anyone else excited to see bungie working independently on a new franchise?

Well considering that they've explicitly stated that they will "see us starside 2013" I'd say probably next year...

Wait. Wait, waitwaitwaitWAIT.

Starside is crossed out, does this mean that their next game won't be in space?

Oh, I am afraid it can mean only one thing...

Bungie is making the new PLANETSIDE!!! *dun DUN DUUUUUUnnnnnn!*

Heh, I kid. But really it can mean, or not mean, pretty much anything. It is Bungie we're talking about. They can be pretty cryptic when they want to.

I cap fools.

If we don't get something on Bungie Day, I might cry.

Believe. Bungie.

Im with you on this one. Come Bungie Day I am hoping for some glimmer of light from Bungie themselves to why no one is paying the electric bills anymore. And if no electrician shows up it will be a sad, sad day for those afraid of the dark that it no announcements.

2013 is the year Destiny will be released according to the contract. So the game could be announced this year.

Well I typed up this huge thing trying to explain my view with a bunch of hyperlinks and everything. But for some reason B.Net will NOT allow it to post, I even tried pming it to you xgeua. No dice, sorry.

But basically it's in the first part of Mail Sack 21, you should recognize it right away when it comes up. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

Suffice to say that I think the announcement of their new game would be a latch-key revelation. (or of megaton-type importance)

But that's simply my opinion. I could be wrong.

So far, according to the contract, the game 'Destiny' is set to be released in Fall/Autumn 2013.
Halo 4 is set to be released in Fall/Autumn 2012, yet it was only announced earlier this year.
So it is more likely that Bungie's new IP will be publically announced next year; judging by 343i's actions with Halo 4, game developers clearly feel like there is more than enough time in the year to generate interest and anticipation, since they both announce and release the game in the same year.

Halo 4 was announced last June but other than that, I agree.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Honestly, I don't care about Bungie anymore. I've lost quite a bit of respect and faith in them.

Ehh, most people play me off as a blind Reach hater, but it is because of Reach that I have lost quite a bit of respect and faith in them. It can be assumed (considering I am on the Bungie Universe forum) that I very much enjoy story/campaign. With Reach, Bungie's last Halo game, it seemed to me as though they gave everybody the finger. The campaign had so much potential. Yet, they settled for a controversial story that contradicted canon and just wasn't good. I'd be okay with it, if it was better than the already established canon, but I thought it was much worse.

They seemed to of only cared about multiplayer in Reach. Hell, they even made the multiplayer maps first and then incorporated them into the campaign. For somebody who loves the lore, all that I have stated above is what made me lose quite a bit of respect/faith in them.

Also, quick note, I also wouldn't have minded them focusing on the multiplayer so much if it was good. But, to me, it was just something that was catered to the casuals. Something to get more people to play Halo, more sales, etc. So, to me, Reach just seems to be a big finger to the fans. That's why I've lost that respect and faith. But, that is only my opinion. I'm not forcing onto anybody else here. That is just me.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

As much as I'd like to see something, I'm fairly certain we won't see anything until 2013. That being said, Bungie Day is fast approaching, and I can safely speak for everyone by saying that the One of Seven contest will probably yield something of some significance.
