If anybody has played Call of Duty: Big Red One...then you know what im talking about. When you hold down the left thumbstick and move it in a direction, your character should put their weapon to their side then sprint forward. Their could be a sprint meter that drains quickly and replenishes slowly. Thier could also be a new power up to have like infinite sprint for like 30 sec or something. They could move the crouching to the X button and make it toggle so you can just press it once and you don't have to hold it. Any ideas, suggestions or comments guys??

Yea! The D-pad is use less right now, they could move crouch to that or something. Nothing is in stone right now.

Sprinting doesn't seem like it would fit into Halo... it'd make it seem too much like other games.

Yea but it could help in those tight situations. Like when you get hit with that charged up plasma pistol bolt and you wanna run to get your shields back you could sprint of the battle field. The meter would only last for like 5 seconds then it would be completley drain. And it could take like 30 sec for it to replenish.

i think it would ruin gameplay. imaging having a 1v1 with someone and they are going side to side, and then suddenly they are behind you and then assassinate u? that would be lame

Then you change your tactics. Adapt. A lot of people failed to do so when Halo 2 came out, so they complained about Bungie instead. I think the sprint button would be a good idea.

Oh, and no one could ever do that to me, my sensitivity is 10. They'd get a swift punch in the face for trying.

Guess what guys? You're about 4 years too late; it was considered for Halo 2 but ultimately dropped because it didn't fit in.

No...if anything, do it like PDZ, where you put away your weapon. But sprinting really wouldn't be too great of an idea.

Just make Master Chief run as fast as he did in Halo 1, making a spring meter doesn't fit in Halo series. He's a supersoldier for god's sake, he runs at like 50km/h (something about that)

You play to win the game!

No sprinting in H3 please.

My thoughts exactly. Let Halo be Halo...not a clone of every other game.

The spartans are probably runnin at full speed anyway

Can you even imagine people sprinting around trying to assasinate each other? It'd be like a bunch of squirrels fighting over a greased up watermelon. I'm sorry but sprinting makes things completely retarded. It'll become just like Bunny Hopping in COD2 and BF2:PC to avoid getting shot.

Don't you just hate it when you've been quoted and you realise there's a typo? :-P

yeah i think it would be a eh thing because we all no there are people out there that if they where losing they would run away n keep doing it untill they regain there bar and it would be an over and over type of deal but it would be good for some things but people i think would abuse it way tooo much

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

I think bungie accually said that dashing will be in halo 3, it was mentioned in the one with the demo. with mister chief and the flashlight with the new HD lighting engine.

Complicating the game doesn't always make it better. Just make the Chief a bit faster.

][=][Imperial Center][=][

that would be cool to be able to sprint in Halo3, also to be able to go prone would be sweet, and it would be harder for enemys to hit you and such when you do lay prone.
