Anyone notice this kind of AI movement in Reach (skipped AI go to another location en masse)? I recently got Reach and I've begun been looking into this.

I've only played up to TotS (messing with the sword Elite right now) and noticed:

Nightfall - there's one particular area, before the Guta vs. Grunt battle, if skipped that will cause enemies from a previous area to go to that location. I'm not sure how to get rid of Jun yet.

TotS
-destroying the first AA gun
-destroying the second AA gun

But both of these sends in Pelicans and a flurry of death. :(

ONI Base might also have one if I can get every AI pilot and passenger out by hijack (including Wraiths) but I never realized how scary it is to try boarding a Revenant. 0_0

For people who don't know what I'm talking about, see my unique collections from other Halo games:

Not really, no.

Never really noticed anything Ghost, mostly because like you said, Pelicans would destroy them and most AI collections in Reach are ruined by Noble Team.

TotS: I mindlessly destroy everything in that part of the level. Sorry.

Nightfall: I recently conquered the level SLASO, and the only movement I noticed is when elites follow me from the second pit to the circle battle with the plasma turret. Is that the one you were referring to?

If Noble team killed people, then that would mean that their AI actually worked.

Too bad this is the closest thing in Reach where you're in an actual battle and not little skirmishes.

I take it you're here for a reason?

All i've seen them do is stand out in the open and take pot shots at enemies or do those useless cover animations.

Oh don't worry, they work just enough to ruin a collection, not actually win a fight (well, one that doesn't take 2 hours for them to finish while they compete over who's cover or hurt animation is best.)

For example, in WC, you can manipulate the first encounter (after the skirmisher on the roof) so that all the initial AI are unresponsive. A whole hoard of grunts and skirmishers and...well, here comes Carter. Nevermind.

I'm currently at The Package rally point bravo but I'd like to know if the secret switch that removes all the friendly AI is present during the battle or appears after it.

Yep.

It is a darn shame. I've only got 3 levels on my list right now, with the third one being New Alexandria.

Exodus, the rest of NA, and mission start + rally point alpha of The Package didn't have as much infantry as I had hoped while LNoS was ruined by Jorge.

:(

I was hoping to try out what you said, having found a video of that earlier today on High Impact Halo.

How to get Noble team out of the way for Winter Contingency, By Melander Mckinney.

1) Get the falcon.

2) Get Carter and Jorge in the falcon.

3) Get out of the Falcon.

Boom.

How about getting the 1st Wraith at rally point bravo on The Package earlier than usual?

I can only jetpack up (oddly through it) and melee the Elite pilot and gunner out but some enemies have to be killed before the Phantom drops it off.

I think I'm making progress with Nightfall. I'll update this post later.

Area #1 - push/melee Jun behind 2 supply cases. He won't teleport until after you hit the loading point (at least when sprinting. If you use forklift, he'll teleport when you reach a certain point). Covies will make their way to the next area.

Area #2 - Block the previous areas with a forklift, teleport Jun to next area, remove forklift, run to the Guta vs. Grunt fight, delay the checkpoint (I am very excited as it seems checkpoint delay duration has been increased in Reach!!), go to previous area to get the cp.
Previous entry: in progress. Perhaps setting up a blockade to block the previous enemies and keep Jun's sinister sniping out of their reach.
Result:

A massed battle of about 15 Grunts (don't forget the turret Grunt). There's about 6 Elites but most of them seem territorial. And 1 Jackal.

Frustrations:

Forklift's a pain to drive, Jun teleportation delay

Major update! Massed battle became a swarm of Grunts!

Killing 2 Elites from the first area + 2 Rangers (besides, it's reasonable to kill them since the 2 Elites are territorial and needle rifle shots are annoying and would be better suited for player hands) yields additional reinforcements, bringing up Grunt numbers to about 25 and adding about 4 Jackals. There's also 2 Elites and they will be roaming around. I think this is a great trade!

The only problem now is stopping Jun from coming back from the Guta vs. Grunt battle. A forklift might solve that problem but then I'd be risking losing a checkpoint (which thankfully, unlike in H2/H3, can be delayed indefinitely). Also, as a precaution, I turned on Tough Luck, Thunderstorm, and Mythic (didn't really need it as only 1 Grunt got damaged during the setup and it was because of my forklift. Hehehe Jun didn't kill anyone). As a result, now I have kamikaze Grunts every time I kill an Elite. :/

Here it is.
