Whoa. Major bumpage. I'd rather you create a new thread, please.

Anyways...this is a pretty big problem nowadays, apparently its caused because the RAM is overtaken by the Vista OS. Vista consumes a fair bit of RAM...if you have 512, you should be good to run Vista but nothing else, at least a gig is preferable if you're intending on gaming or something like that on Vista.

I haven't heard of anyone able to run Halo PC on Vista yet, so there is probably some more things they need to do to get older stuff to work on Vista.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Everyone with Vista Beta, just get rid of it. Your walking on eggshells using a beta of anything.
Like with IE 7 beta, I installed that, and got a virus. No joke. It did its share of damage to my PC, but nothing seemed to be permanent. I also got WMP12 beta, and that looks sweet! But I got rid of it during the virus scare.
In short, just wait for the actual thing!!
Also, IE is a horrid browser to use. I reccomend Firefox. Much safer and easyer to use.
And since my PC has 256 megs of ram, and can somehow miracuasly play Halo, I don't think that Vista would last long on this PC. It would crash the instant I try to boot it up. I am going to spend the money on this Dell to upgrade it for when Vista does come out.
Although the HD and ram I add will be worth more than the computer, I want to do it.

I got Halo PC to run on Vista Beta 2, it was a good bit slower than it is on XP on the same PC but it worked.

Try selecting the Run as Administrator option in the compatibility tab in the program shortcut for it.

The User Account Control functions cause lots of problems with games and the Run As Administrator option might fix some of them.
