Subject: Halo 4: Good or Bad?

and I never really like 343 anyways
How can you dislike a developer that hasn't made a single game yet? Don't say Halo CEA, that's not a game they made, although their terminals were very interesting.

I'd say they did a very good job improving Halo CE, the new overlaid engine looks amazing, and the skulls they put in made the game incredibly replayable.

Halo 4 is looking good so far, they're making Infinity Slayer probably to appeal to CoD and BF fans, but Halo fans aren't being ignored.

I've seen power weapons on the maps btw, there are a lot of MLG videos showing this to be true. In fact they even show up on your HUD. The only weapons you'll be able to have in Loadouts are Assault Rifles, Marksman Rifles and Pistols from what I can tell.

Ok you caught me i didnt know alot about the topic and ive been saying bull-blam!- the entire time i just dont trust 343 because they meade some changes to reach with their title update which i didnt like, the mainthing being the changes to armor lock. I also dont like the infinity stuff that makes it more like cod and battlefield halo is unique from them and making anything about halo more like that god awefull thing people call a video game called call of duty. And the graphics are good but the way the redesigned the weapons is questionable they look to cartoon like and the battle rife looks so stupid now but thats just my opinions and i thank those who educated me on the subject but i still doubt the game.

I stopped reading when I read that power weapons won't be on the map.
In infinity slayer, a power weapon will drop after a player gets a certain amount of kills and chooses to spawn them.
In other play lists, power weapons will be on the map.
It's playlist dependent, and that's good.
That way, they're not making it all one way, they're giving choice to the player to play what he/she prefers.
And as for loadouts, just because Call of Duty did it badly don't think Halo 4 will.
Call of Duty gives you the choice of EVERY weapon.
Loadouts, much like in Reach, give you very basic deployment options as far as weapons go.
Assault Rifle, DMR, and the much welcomed back BR and Carbine.
They're not scrapping what makes Halo Halo, they're just making it a more changeable, personal experience.
As for the story-line, don't worry, that's just something you have to have faith in, and I have faith they'll do Chief, Bungie and the Halo franchise justice.

people will believe something because they want it to be or they fear it may be.

I hope you guys realize that, although I did say I dislike 343, I never explained my reason. I also will say that Halo CEA is good, I liked it and kudos to them for it (Delta xero, I agree with you on the halo anniversary part).
I would also like to say, that when they were making changes from halo 3 to reach, I was in full support of those changes. I like Bungie, they are one of my favorite game companies, 343, I dislike, sorry that I, this one guy, can set everyone aflame for saying that I dislike a company even if they haven't published a legitimate game yet, you can still dislike them. Honestly, yes Roberto, complaining is a complete waste of time. And I would have stopped complaining right now, if everyone else has stopped complaining, (i.e. all the people responded to the bottom section of the poll.) I am just curious to see how many people like the game and how many dislike it. Commenting on the bottom part of the poll, is, as Roberto said, a waste of time as well, cause even that is still complaining in a way.
I can say I'm done with halo now. All my friends and family are done or have been done with it, and now I am. I'm looking forward to new games, like dishonored and what Bungie will announce on Bungie day, and also to waste my life away playing Dawngaurd when it comes out tuesday. Sorry if I've offended anyone, but if I have, you probably should've ignored this and just kept on living your life.

and AJW dude, while mo4 sounds like a moron, and me an idiot, you sound like a ticked off dude who lives with his mother after college (not saying you are, just that you sound like one). We all say stupid things in life, there isn't one soul alive who is even remotely close to perfect, or always right, or never dumb. That is human nature, and life, o.k.

Whilst I agree that whilst people need to settle down, stop flaming, being aggressive fan boys and take the caps lock off sometimes.
This is very, very counter-productive on your part.

sorry that I, this one guy, can set everyone aflame for saying that I dislike a company even if they haven't published a legitimate game yet

You have no basis of 343i, you admit yourself, yet you don't like them?
Actually, you do have a basis, you said you liked anniversary, and that is the ONLY thing you have to go on, yet you still dislike them?
The only other thing you have are the changes made to Reach, and if you don't like them, don't play in that playlist.
So far they've made a game you like, and made changes to a game that were completely optional, demonstrating that they were flexible and took into mind the entire player base.
And you say yourself that they haven't made a legitimate game yet, and you're shooting them down?
I'm sorry, I've said this in a completely neutral, well spoken and polite way, but I've said my mind.
And in my mind, nothing you're saying makes any sense whatsoever.

I'm not going to derail the thread with my anti-CEA tirade so I'll just answer the question in the subject.

H4 looks good.

But I am doubtful that there will be proper restoration of Elite Zealots. H2 was when they became redundant. Reach was when they became something else. I'd like to have seen Ultra Elites become redundant since they are essentially 'damage sponges without restraint' compared to Zealots (which, in CE, had flaws, such as berserking).

I am concerned about:

-level design. Pushed-in invisible barriers and 10 second countdowns... in campaign... is unacceptable!

-skulls. CEA's skulls were not made for SLASO or tricking or for old skool players. Skulls should resolve inconveniences, not make things convenient like Pinata or Grunt Funeral. Also, CEA's skulls were mostly catering to Reach players (I am now a Reach player but still, I wanted enhanced CE gameplay. That means AI modifiers, AI encounter adjustment, etc.). There should be an even number of fun and difficulty skulls. CEA had the right idea but the wrong implementation

-achievements. CEA's initial achievements had the right emphases but starting at The Library, it all went wrong (though there are some good ones like killing all the Elites on Keyes). Then again, I don't even try to get achievements these days so this isn't a big deal to me

I think Halo 4 is very good. But i hate the loadout and the grenade-showing function.

They did say that the reason they didn't want to add any AI modifiers was because to do so would risk screwing with the actual, normal AI. With only a 1 year dev cycle, such a risk as ruining Halo 1's famous AI and not having the time to fix it was too big a risk to take.

It is in fact why none of the skulls are hinderances. Anything that directly impacts the enemies was a risk.

So why on earth are you complaining when 343i is taking what was good about Halo 3 and Reach and combining them? Why were you in full support of extremely radical changes but not in any kind of support for taking the best of both worlds?

Just sounds like blind hate because it's not Bungie to me... -_-

I like Bungie, they are one of my favorite game companies, 343, I dislike, sorry that I, this one guy, can set everyone aflame for saying that I dislike a company even if they haven't published a legitimate game yet, you can still dislike them.

You can certainly dislike them, but in doing so you make yourself look like an invalid moron because you have absolutely no legitimate reason to justify your dislike. It doesn't make sense...

I can say I'm done with halo now. All my friends and family are done or have been done with it, and now I am. Nobody is offended, we're all just mystified by the illogical and paradoxical statements you made.

I don't really care what I sound like to you, you're nothing but text on a screen to me and I feel absolutely no desire to please you. We all say stupid things, absolutely but when you reach the level where you recognise that you have no reason to spout dislike over a product that is neither released, nor even finished yet then you start to go beyond the ability to use the excuse "it's human nature". I don't care if it's human nature, that's not an excuse to be stupid. Humans are naturally violent, I wouldn't arbitrarily punch someone in the face and say "sorry, human nature mate"...

@ajw

Bungie fanboys tend not to be the most logical and well reasoned people. He even admits he liked CEA, yet still dislikes 343i, yet still not explaining why, while admitting he that he hasn't explained why.

Am I the only one thinking he liked CEA because it's technically a Bungie game?
