Yes, as he said, you NEED gamespy in order to play Halo multiplayer. It's just like CS. You need Steam in order to play cs multiplayer.

Maybe you have gamespy somewhere, but you don't have a shortcut for it. Because the last time I checked, you need gamespy lobby in order to play multiplayer. Because whenever you install HaloPC, you get Gamespy unless you un-check the gamespy option box...

ImSpartacus, what does system specs have to do with playing with Gamespy?

I don't recommend installing Gamespy Arcade, if that's what you're talking about, because I swear it has a bunch of malware that comes with it and it made my laptop crash, and I had to reinstall the OS because I could only run the laptop on safe mode without it crashing.

Wiat, really? I never got any malicious softwares through Gamespy, but then again, I never opened gamespy arcade, maybe that's why.

Halo is based on gamespy.

That is the way the multiplayer works. Gamespy is built into halo and it doesn't really need to be installed to run.

Anti-Viruses like Norton see gamespy as spyware. and it may be recommended to be deleted but it is your choosing.

There's a reason why there's an option to not download GSA when you go through the disk setup. Halo PC's multiplayer is played through Gamespy, but you don't need Gamespy Arcade to play it. GSA is evil. To be on the safe side, don't use it.

There is, if you have a Mac. It's called GameRanger, and it's a free, stand alone app that you can play a bunch of other Mac games on, with other Mac people.

Here.

That's what I said! It has a virus on it, and it made me have to reboot my OS.
