I have already turned down all of the video settings to either low or off, yet multiplayer still seems to hiccup a lot. Am I just used to Halo 2 Live? Or is there something else I can do to improve performance?

We need your system specs. When you're getting a drop in FPS, that either means your RAM is very low, or your graphics card is weak. Or hell, both.

It's probably because you're used to Xbox Live's standard broad band service, and the standardization of the console. Upgrade your PC. That'll fix it.

Specs?

run Fraps, With fraps it will give you a framerate.

You may be shocked. Halo only runs at 18-24 frames per second.

Um, fraps isn't necessary. For many of the ignorant who didn't know, Ctrl+F12 shows framerate in graph form in game.

Maybe for you. My Halo runs at 30-40 Frames Per Sec. And when I say that, I don't mean looking at the ground or up at the sky.

What map.

on small maps (battle creek) I get 30-60

on medium map (blood gulch) I get 18-24

on large maps (domination) it is so low I can't play it.

I heard this may be an issue because halo is a poorly programmed game and relys on the Cpu timing so if your cpu is fast things run different. But this should mean anything in multiplay because every thing is controlled by other people not cpu timing.

I play at 800 x 600 at 30 FPS because it's a decent resolution that will always run that fast, with or without Fraps, at the highest settings.

lol

I ran fraps at 60fps, and it recorded like my halo as it see it. Lol.

Its usually at around 40-30 but yeah. Ctrl+F12 it
