I'm gonna shed some light here, this post is especially directed at the original poster.
The aimbot exists. I've been researching ways to crash it for about a month. And yes, it does work. On top of that, it doesn't work off color, the creator actually learned about the coding of Halo by experimentation or other ways, and managed to program the aimbot to aim for the head. The reason I know this is because it tracks heads behind walls. And to make it worse, it has built in lag compensation, which leads for you and can be adjusted in game for varying pings. So it doesn't just aim for the head, it leads for you and everything.
As for the cheats part, you said that if you open the HEK and toyed with it, you couldn't cheat. THAT is completely wrong. Bluewalls invoves modding your own map files to give every texture that of a window or other glass-like object, making all walls and such transparent. As far as third-party application cheats, a D3D9 wrapper hack is very easy to find, and very widely used. I've never toyed with it myself, but I know that it has an ingame toggler between normal view and wireframe view.
Cheating can even be accomplished by modding nothing, just because Gearbox did a crap job on the netcode. Print screening is a common problem. If someone has 100 or less ping, and lags hardcore, they're probably print screening. People usually do it on capture runs.
In short, you might wanna think twice, because that guy that just yelled "cheater" might have actually spotted one.
