i tried playin halo on my Dell laptop but when I tried running it it said "a problem occured initalizing directdraw, hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG" can anyone tell me whats goin on? thanks

A laptop is generally not a gaming machine. Your graphics chip is probably not up to the task.

The graphic card inside of laptop would usally have a lower amount of memory then it's Desktop counterpart.

This maybe an issue.

Another thing that could be it is your laptop is an older laptop and your graphic card doesn't support that version of dircet X.

What are the specs of your laptop?

Try downloading the 1.07 patch from Microsoft's Halo site. Chances are that maybe his laptop is good enough to run HPC, but he needs to manually install this fix.

1.30GHz 1.30GHz, 248 MB of RAM

tried d/lin the patch it said i had to have the game installed on the computer, but i do? i tried the other one and it said i was missing something, but i downloaded the whole thing?
