All I know is that I and four of my alts are on the Sears list of Sapphire. Y U NO get Bruce Almighty jokes? Makes me so mad.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

sapphire's little
Oxymoron! BURN HIM, BURN HIM, I SAY!

I suppose you are right tom, I did say quite an oxymoron as Sapphire's "sear's" list is huge and has almost 100-200+ user names collected on it.

But it is funny cause only 10-20 people ever post out of the 1,000 people who joined.

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

Well, if you want to completely kill your group of activity, not accepting members is one good way of doing that. I think groups should welcome all members, it's just a matter of when.

I'd be surprised if a group ever actually created a "no-invite list."

I've seen a few...
Really? They take themselves too seriously then..

lol

It is true, the groups I have seen with a no invite list are tightly controlled by the moderation staff about what you say and do.

I really think it is a horrible way to run a group, control people's posts out of fear of being booted or banned for having different ideas or thoughts.

I've never quite gotten into Private Groups, but if you're in a Private Group like that just -blam!- quit.

It's like that person you know who's best friend makes fun of them on a regular basis but they laugh along and shake it off because they still want to be friends with them.

oh i didn't even see the first part of this thread saved so hard

Good point

The group itself isn't bad at all, it is just administration. I got removed for no reason and everyone associated with WAY, FT, and SV were removed from the group with no explanation either.

I was told that my presence and the other members presence from similar groups were not a good example of what the group was about. I would say it is more of a controlling method.

I don't see too many groups like that but there are a few others. I find trying to control every aspect of what every user wants to post to be a little, annoying.

Who gives a damn, ken? It's their group to run the way they like. If they want to exclude people for whatever reason, they're perfectly allowed. I think you have this delusion that every member should be entitled to membership of any group. That's not how it works. It doesn't matter. Why would you want to go there if they don't want you there anyways? I haven't an inkling of desire to join any groups I'm on a no-invite list for.

I just hate to see a quality group ruined by a few or 1 individual.

Many groups are filled with nice people but you often have (like the admins of BF3 console servers) who are willing to stretch their new found powers onto users in their groups.

Admins can ruin many good groups.

I understand why the groups like the Mythic group exclude certain users but when an admin bans people from their group because they are also in another group, that is really stupid.

Private groups are supposed to be fun, but some people want to think they own a little kingdom and they can feel some power controlling their "subjects" which they can banish for no reason or if they don't like what they are hearing.

I've never wondered that, no.

But if I am on someone's no-invite list, it's obviously working, because I haven't heard from them!

Anyone who puts SJ on their no-invite list is the Devil. Momma said so.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Waterboy <3 Sonic john is a quality member. I don't see why anyone would not want him in their group.

I'm important enough to kids on this website to be on a lot of 'people we hate,' 'stupid people,' and 'do not let in group' lists. Of course.

... Luckily the few I know of are groups I get more amusement from laughing at rather than joining.
:D

This thread feels very negative towards certain groups. With that in mind, I'm going to go ahead and lock it.
