For all the people out there speculating about what's coming up in halo 3 and more specifically people using the books as reference points I'd like to point you in the direction of I Love Bees.

No doubt some of you will be aware of I love bees (Bungie have mentioned it a few times), for those of you that aren't I'd suggest looking here for an explanation. I don't want you to concern yourself with the alternate reality game (it's long finished) but the radio serial style recordings located here.

The ILB story takes place on Earth and deals with a handful of main characters, how they are coping with the Human/Covenant war and how with the help of a rouge A.I they just about save the world.

It starts months before the events of Halo and leads right up to the start of halo 2. It paints a remarkable picture of what life on Earth is like in the Halo universe, deals with the fall of Reach, explains what happens to Coral (the subject of the upcoming book) and also explains how the Covenant find Earth at the beginning of Halo 2.

As far as I know Bungie have never confirmed (or refuted) ILB as canon but everything that happens in the games and that's written in the books corresponds with the ILB story line so it all fits together very well.

With the 3 books released so far, I Love Bees and the Conversations from the Universe booklet we have a lot of information at hand to speculate around. I'll keep my speculation to myself but I'm very much looking forward to what Ghosts of Coral and the Halo graphic novel have in store for us.

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

I Love Bees isn't canon. But, it is still very interesting. I also advise you to check it out. (first link in sig is a link to one of the ILB recordings)

Does anyone still have the link to the original thread. I had it a few months ago but have since lost it. I would love to watch the drama unfold for a second time.

OK, yes, it is very true that I'm a dumb ass. I'm not denying that. However, isn't the whole point of a beta to increase the amount of users until you get someone dumb enough to try something you haven't anticipated.

Well I wish it was, I enjoyed it more than the books and have listened to it several times over. It gives a human and emotional side to the halo story. Now an ILB film that would be ace.

She's been around a while old Cortana, not sure but 7 years old is usually when these super A.I start going rampant. Given bungies's fondness for rampant A.I in previous games (Marathon) I'd be surprised if it wasn't a part of the Halo 3 Story line, she'll need shutting down of course most probably by MC.

Also it's probably been mentioned before but I can most definitely hear gravemind's voice under Cortana's when she speaks during the Halo 3 trailer.

I'm not sure I quite understand what some of you are talking about or if you even understand what I love Bees is.

I love Bees was a game, a marketing tool for Halo 2. The recordings that are now left over from the game (that are there for everybody to hear) just tell a very interesting story and I thought it might give some of you enjoyment and give you some more ideas for what's to come in halo 3.

If you don't like I Love Bees why bother to comment here? Is it adding to the thread at all?

Search it on wikipedia. It outlines the story pretty well, though it has some problems. Anyways, it was acctually approved by Bungie and made by one of the leading ARG companies out htere, so it wasn't just a fan related game.
