So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

TO TRAIN BAD KIDS IS MY CAUSE!
Most players go through the same learning cycle.
They get the game and go through the selfish stage, which is when they develop their individual skill with little thought for anything other than picking up kills with minimal deaths. Winning is in their mind somewhere, but it comes second to finding and killing more people. People who are always pissed about "kill stealing" are in this stage.
Next is the teamwork stage where they meet intelligent players or watch some sort of gameplay that triggers a change. They begin to understand that winning is more important than their individual performance. They think that they need to do everything and put shots into everyone at the expense of their own life. A complete turn-around from the first stage in many cases. Unfortunately many players in this stage spend a lot of time running at the other team, giving up easy deaths, and complaining that their team isn't "using teamwork".
The final stage is when players learn that they need to balance the selfish gameplay and teamwork instead of putting all their effort into camping, or running at the other team to try to constantly shoot and weaken everything humanly possible. A healthy balance of the two in the mind of a full party is a frightening thing because they will all be keeping themselves alive to the best of their ability while also offering each other help.
Just my 2 cents on Halo psychology.
that feel when you're in the final stage
