I will approach you ninjas with respect, but there is something that you do that really ticks me off. I am sorry if I come across as offending or slightly hostile, but there is no other way that I can express myself.

Here we go. So earlier today I was participating in an LGBT pride thread. In that thread I was discussing why I don't like LGBT pride parades, but all the while I was doing my utmost best to stay very respectful and to choose my words carefully as not to offend anyone, while still being able to express my views. However, since we are talking about LGBT, the "G" part of it, as you may know, is blocked by the profanity filter. The reason I think this was originally done is so that it prevents people from using it in a derogatory manner. However, in that thread, it is kind of hard to say what you have to say when every other sentence has "-blam!-" in it. It is very distracting (I think), and it is just easier to just spell... um... how do I do this without getting another warning...

"!@#$"

!=g
@=h
#=e
$=y

Work with me here. I'm trying.

So, I presented why I don't participate in those pride parades, in a respectful manner. However, a short while after the thread was effectively done with, I received a warning from Disembodied Soul that I shouldn't bypass the profanity filter.

(Excuse my frustration)

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?

I would venture to say that I was one of the least hot-headed people there, and I can say this because I know that I made a conscious effort to be so. How can you honestly send me a warning, which I have gotten multiple times in the past for the exact same reason, that I was bypassing the profanity filter when it is completely obvious that my intentions for doing so were pure? See for yourself. Look at my posts. Do you have no sense of judgement? Quite honestly, as biased as I may be towards my own opinions (as I would think I should be), that is complete donkey poop.

Please ninjas, please explain to me your reasoning. Yes, I know I violated the rules, but I did so in a goodhearted, honest and respectful manner. What is your rebuttal?

[Most of my anger is towards Disembodied Soul. Some of you ninjas are cool, so don't get me wrong.]

Change doesn't start with the Ninjas, it starts with the site itself. The Ninjas aren't going to change anything until they're forced to.

But they have the power to regulate certain things or not. They're not robots designed to have no sense of judgement. They have one of their own, and that's what I'm questioning.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Ir you could not break rules?

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

I feel your frustration. My response is simply "don't do it." How does a good hearted nature change the fact that our hosts have asked us not to cross that line? Anyway, it's just a warning.

Quote from Confucius

By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.

Don't worry Titles aren't everything here

It's just a warning mate. I eat those for breakfast. Omnomnom.

It's just a warning, yes, but what ticks me off is it seems like Disembodied Soul does not think for himself. I'm sure he does, but his mechanical sweeping of warnings and bans with no double thought seems very inconsiderate and rude. This is certainly not the first time he has done this.

Your hosts have asked you to regulate the site. Same way as the government asks a police officer to regulate civilians. Don't tell me that you have never seen an officer use his sense of judgement and compassion to let someone off easy. Do you have none of your own? You don't HAVE to discipline someone here. You are not being held at gunpoint.

The main problem I have is not because I got a warning, it is mainly because the ninjas are deterring good, conversation-starting topics. Especially controversial ones such as LGBT. I despise this. It makes me mad. There is absolutely NO reason why you should discipline someone who violated the rules, but did so because they had a good reason and were being respectful all the while.

Is that honestly the way you are going to treat us?

Next time for me it will be a ban. I have already been banned once for the same reason.

Key

You said yehg backwards which is the same thing as just censoring the u in the f-word with an asterisk.

That's bypassing the profanity filter.

That's bypassing the profanity filter.

But here's the difference: It was not offensive

It's not that I'm crazy... It's just that, you're not as far out there as I am.

I've learned that the ninjas are the law here. Even though you disagree and feel the ninja is completely wrong, they are in charge and we change. I respect them as the authority and community. You should do the same.

You're not getting my point.

I am annoyed by several aspects of this thread. Not only do I trust the Ninjas, and think that public discussion of their work is in poor taste, but this whole conversation dances on the razor's edge of contemplating one's personal relationship preferences.

This is a gamer forum. If you are talking about games in a respectful fashion, the conversation is rarely moderated. Let's stick to that. Shall we?
