I like how you blame your douchbaggery on trueskill and MM inability to use an easily maniuplated system to give you worthy opponents.

I guess that's all excuse you need to continue to play like a bunch of -blam!-s.

I play to win within the confines of what is supplied with the game (i.e. no cheating). I'm not going to purposely give the other team a power weapon, map control, or the objective to 'give them a chance'. They are responsible for their own skill level when they search matchmaking. Nobody has any right to complain that there are players better than them and players worse than them.

The only thing at fault is the butthurt coming from players such as yourselves who ultimately led to the removal of a tighter trueskill system. Without this system, anybody matches anybody. This isn't fun for good players and it isn't fun for lesser skilled players.

Do you honestly believe good players 'like' sitting around spawn killing for 12 minutes? It's ridiculously boring, especially when everyone starts quitting.

Almost all good players want to play competitive games (unless they just want to kick back after tryharding all day). Nobody wants to play a BTB game where the score ends 100 to 15. It's boring and the other team is most likely camping in their base with camo/armor lock or running in straight lines with the AR.

All of these issues come down to the lack of trueskill, which happened when the ranks were omitted, which happened when players got upset the game said they weren't good, which happened because people are too lazy to learn how to play the game.

(among other reasons such as the exploits of the system. it wasn't perfect but it did its job)

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

I'm not trying to tell you how to play.

I'm trying to get you to realize why Halo is turning into the joke that it is.

Why something like a quit ban, is the biggest insult to gamers everywhere.

And it's all related to a bunch of worthless competitive players who have no class.

To be fair, if someone enjoys holding on randoms rather than a competitive match then they most likely aren't a "competitive" that you keep complaining about.

Just a more skilled casual.

Nope, you're just like one of those 5 year olds who loses a game of snakes and ladders and then starts making up his own rules, grow up.

Guess what.. TRUESKILL IS NEVER GOING TO WORK!

So you need to take it upon yourself to show some class if you want a real competitive match up.

If that means you have to forgo that power weapon to accomplish it..so be it. Because if you go for it the game will end up 100-15. If you let the other guy have it..you might end up with a game that goes 100-50 instead.

See?

And don't tell me you don't have the capacity to determine what your opponent is capable of, and how much you can actually cut back before you risk losing the game because of it.

Red Team is awful at this game, so I'm going to play with my feet, use armor lock, and run in straight lines so the game is more competitive.

That's your logic MR E05. Read it again and look how silly it is.

This is why nobody takes you seriously. You are WRONG

No, what I said is. I'd rather see the game end up 100-75 with all players present at the end of it instead of 100-15, where most of the enemy quit.

Most of you would rather have the 100-15 scenario then turn around and cry to Bungie to make a quit ban.

So would we - so put in ranked playlists for even matches.

And I have yet to see one single good player complain about the quit ban.

Chug bleach.

So your argument is that "good full parties" should "take it easy" on a team of uncoordinated thumbless players?

Players that can successfully perform spawn traps on their opponents are the better players. They have better map knowledge, communication, predictability and teamwork. You want the better team to "die more" so it's "fun" for the team that's getting rolled on in matchmaking?

Goat already said this and it's exactly right, players aren't responsible for other players skill. They're responsible for their own. You keep talking about "having class" in a video game. When in fact, you're the one that quits the game. Who doesn't have class now?

Players that think they're entitled to everything is the reason we're in the situation in the first place. You know, the players that want to see a progression ranking system, ones that like to get stuff for not even winning the game. The reason you see this happen so much is because there is literally only 1 ranked playlist in Reach. Your whole argument is silly. It's ironic that players want a "better true skill", when you have to substitute skill with "going easy" on other players. Grow up, it's a damn video game.

I'm sorry, but the game is going to end in a landslide if the other team sucks whether they're being 'spawn killed' or not. You can't 'give them a chance' in-game if they aren't good. They lost that chance as soon as they searched the playlist by themselves at their current skill level.

You lie. Because when presented with a situation to have control over how the match unfolds.. you choose the 100-15 scenario.

Trueskill does not exist. So you have to take it upon yourself to make the match "appear" competitive. And you chose. People quit. A quit ban gets made.

It should be apparently obvious to you already that when leaderboards and numbers are involved. People cheat the system. High ranks will find ways to stay in the lower ranks. Low ranks will find ways to get into the higher ranks.

You're a fool to think Trueskill accomplishes anything other than incentive to fool it.

I'm sorry but it's not fun to handicap myself to make the game appear more competitive. I don't want it to look competitive, I want it to be competitive which is why I signed up on bigteambattle.net and barely play matchmaking anymore.

I feel as though this argument will go nowhere since you fail to realize the truth in this situation. So I will close by saying this:

It's a video game. Nobody really cares if you're good or bad. I'm above average and I know I'm no where near the best. I have no problem being told how good or bad I am because I understand where I stand. And again, I understand that it's just a video game.

There are games I'm good at. There are games I'm not. I try to put effort in to learn it so I can enjoy it for myself, but if I'm not enjoying myself I'll either get better at it or stop playing. Whether or not I enjoy the game is my personal responsibility, not that of anyone else.

If more players shared this attitude, trueskill would still be working to match good with good, bad with bad, and intermediate with intermediate. But people didn't like being called out for their ability. They didn't like being bad, so they either cheated the system or they whined about it. Whining about Halo 2/3's systems is why Reach bombed

You're expecting 200,000+ people to play matchmaking on an 'honor rules' system.

I can't even get 15 of my friends to play on an honor rule system in a custom game. It's difficult enough in real life at parties.

Seriously--just stop.

Wrong

You obviously have no idea how it works. It wasn't even developed by Bungie.

You lie. Because when presented with a situation to have control over how the match unfolds.. you choose the 100-15 scenario.

Except it was never my choice.

Who decided to search without a full team? Who decided to betray for rockets/sniper/wraith/banshee/whatever? Who decided to not push for power weapons? Who decided to quit in the pre-game lobby? Who decided to go AFK and stay in their base the whole time? Who decided to lose the team vote? Who decided to not push with map control?

These are all choices that both teams make at the beginning of every competitive game. It's not one teams fault for their opponents choices. You are responsible for your own choices. If you're on the short end of the stick, you learn from your mistakes. Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over, but expecting different results. If you don't like what is happening in matchmaking, change something different. You keep search by yourself in a 16 man playlist and wondering why you have teammates that quit. That's called insanity.

If you want your matchmaking experience to be any different at all, I suggest YOU change something.
