If they don't suck it at first, just thrust and thrust til they do

So i was watching the halo 4 e3 reveal and after seeing the 'An ancient evil awakens' followed by the Didact's symbol turning upside down, i started thinking..

Maybe the ancient evil could be Mendicant Bias?

I know that he helped the Chief on the ark behind the scenes but what if it was all just a plot to ensure that the chief made it to requiem safely? After all it's because of MB why the chief ended up at requiem in the first place. Why does MB want the chief? I think it could b because of Cortana and her relation with the Gravemind. She seems to be holding this 'terrible secret' that he was after and possible while still being under the influence of the Gravemind MB may too be after this terrible secret.

So we've established the ancient evil ( I only see two 'ancient' evils in the haloverse as being the flood and mendicant bias, the flood not being so ancient in regards to the plot anymore). Didact i was never led to believe was evil nor did he seem to hate any particular species, mostly he doesn't seem to cut the ancient evil type either.

So the situation of his symbol turning upside down in the trailer.

Again why I believe it could be Mendicant Bias is because he could be mocking his creator by turning his symbol upside down.
Mocking him because he defied the Didact by escaping death from Offensive Bias and mocking him by opposing what the Didact tried tried to accomplish. Also one would think that he would try to change his symbol after going from good to bad.

I am also interested in this but I am not sure in which to follow the Halo storyline. What books, games, graphic novels should I read/play in order to follow the correct timeline?

All the halo games (Just for the sake of the games and timeline) Make sure to read the Halo 3 Terminals aswell. The newer novels I haven't read however The first trilogy and Contact Harvest are great. I'd reccomend reading the books after the games so you have some sort of visual image of the characters.
