Subject: Why is Halo MM so depressing

I kill myself a lot, just to make my teammates rage. It's the best thing you could do now.

*wonders how New Clan Recruitment For Shadow Pack thread gets 55 replies*

*reads "Hi I'm Ashley. . ." *

[Question Answered]

*proceeds to read on, shakes head, and gently laughs*

Is this really what yall think when you go into matchmaking? Do you really think everyone is an over obsessed, complaining loser that ruins the game?

If you really payed attention, then Halo community hasnt changed much AT ALL and neither have the forums. There was no "Golden Age" in the Halo community when everyone said "Good game man", and nor has the community gone down in quality. Its almost completely identical as Halo 2's, and if you simply cant handle it then I suggest playing a different game.

And I honestly cant see the things people hate oh so very much about Halo Reach. I pop in the disc and play the game. When I die, I die. When I win, I win. Nothing more to it. Just like every game. If you die because someone used a certain tactic thats apparently cheap then its entirely your fault (assuming it wasnt actual cheating). As for lag, that just something you have to deal with. No amount of "Fix it!" is going to help.

In my eyes, most of the people here seem to be more focused on critiquing the game then playing it, or have a habit of finding something to blame when they encounter some sort of grief.

I'll sum up the threads you find in Halo 3 and Reach forums

Reach

I've been banned
Reach sucks
KD and WL
Bad kids
MLG

Yea- no. I just looked on the front page. The only one of those examples I commonly see are is the "I've been banned" one. A majority of the threads are questions. Thats when people go in and post trash or derail the thread.

It's like as soon as you enter this forum or even a matchmaking game ts full of hostility and deadly seriousness, like your being pressured to accept this game as a matter of life and death.

Matchmaking is really nothing like that. At least not in the gametypes Ive played. Coming from somebody who actively uses his mic in game chat, I can say from experience, that matchmaking is not the depressing heap of crap you claim it to be. People are friendly when you dont show immediate judgement towards them.

Assuming youre in game chat and use a mic, I guarantee you, the first thing you do when you meet a "squeaker", a group of loud people, etc, your first reaction would be *mute* or "Shut the -blam!- up you insert insult here." You know, instead of showing some tolerance and trying to start a conversation or talk.

As for the forums, yes, you will get almost nothing but insults or the forum favorite, "lol", here. Although, you should be able to look past them and ignore them. A lot of them admittedly said they dont take this forum seriously anymore and just troll it.

It's also boring. FF Limited is back, and only Legendary Limited was fun, but my disc scrated, and it won't load. FML.

I'm new to competitive Halo and Halo itself (Reach being my first video game ever actually). Message me if you want to play;

Reach: MLG, Arena, Doubles, BTB and customs.
Halo 3: Ranked MM and customs.

Also I have every Halo title and all of its DLC on the Xbox 360.
-Umpa

A positive atmosphere is more likely to be found in groups, OP.

I am hardly ever in gamechat but the few times I have it's always been full of dicks. I would never say shut the -blam!- up to someone but if someone has an annoying voice I would just mute them

I'll accept competitive players when they are all dead and gone.

...

So because I enjoy winning that's a bad thing?
