OH HAI THAR!

Ok, so I've started to re-read this book (I was reading it earlier, but had to stop due to school, and I only got about halfway through) and I'm at around page 100, but something I have to know before I keep on reading, is where did Naomi come from? Is this explained later in the book, or is it just a mystery for now?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Naomi is a Spartan-II, she shares the same history as the others. As to book goes on, she becomes much more important to the story and I can see her playing quite an emotional role in The Thursday War.

Five exclamations marks are a good signifier of an insane mind. As is trying to hide from Death in an airtight room. Silly wizard.

Just another SII the authors drew from nowhere. Honestly, it seems that every new piece of canon is accompanied by even more SIIs popping out of the woodwork.

Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

I'm not sure what you mean. He said that "Naomi" was a Spartain-II and thus shared a history similar to the other Spartains. She would have been kidnapped and replaced with a flash-clone, gone through the Spartian -II training, and would either have become:

A) Regular Spartian
B) Dead
C) Mutated horribly
D) Mutated not-so horribly

ajw34307 also said "Naomi" becomes more important to the story as it goes on.

He didn't say much on the backstory of the character though.

Obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned Naomi... -_-

Your question:
where did Naomi come from?

My answer:
Naomi is a Spartan-II, she shares the same history as the others.

Your other question:
Is this explained later in the book, or is it just a mystery for now?

My answer:
she becomes much more important to the story

I do not understand what your problem is...

maybe some of the unnamed spartans who died on reach were ones that were resusitated/rehabilitated into fully augmented spartans.

It was my understanding that she was a S-II candiadate who was co-opted by ONI prior to undergoing augmentation, but I may be talking out my butt.

Ok so in the book Naomi is a Spartan 2 and when confronted with Halsey, Halsey is like where did you come from all the Spartans died on reach! And that is when Parengosky is like there are many things that survived reach that you don't know about. So Naomi survived, obviously, and seeing as how her pic is the front cover of "The Thursday War" you will probably get her back story then...

if i understand the Op's question correctly, Naomi comes from a Outer colony world called Sansar which was glassed by the Covenant.
