Subject: Size matters

When you see a long post, or a post that is long in your opinion, do you skip over it or read the whole thing?

Normaly, I don't read long post, but it depends on who it's by, like Mods or Employees. I also think I'm starting to read the longer post now that I sometimes, but not often, find my self posting a paragraph or more.

So the questions are....do you read the long post?

And do you think they get more attention?

I'll read a long post if it seems like it's worth the read but it has to catch my attention in the first couple sentences.

Relevant.

Sometimes I prefer a short post, sometimes I want a thorough read. It changes for me.

I read an entire post if I plan on posting in the thread. If I'm just skimming it then I'll read a little and move on.

Whether or not I read a post depends on many things. The size of a post rarely dissuades me.

Bye.

It depends on how big a post were talking. Couple of paragraphs? Two filled posts? Probably not. I suppose it relies on what the topic is and, dare I say it, who posted it.

The Ultimate Opinion.

I will read if it looks interesting and is well put together. I will not read if it isn't split into paragraphs or is filled with spelling errors.

I like brief and to the point posts, if you need to use beyond maximum character limit to drive a point or something, whatever floats your boat.

Anyway, On topic.

It really all depends on the first paragraph. Regardless of the post's length, whether it be 3 paragraphs or 30, I will read the post if I feel that the person has something viable to say. I usually determine this from the 1st paragraph; if's it just a load of crap and malarky, I just move on. I might skim a little, but usually I just move along. However, if the person is actually making an attempt to say something I feel is worth reading, then read I shall.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I'll read any post that sparks my interest, no matter the length. It doesn't matter who makes the post, nor how long it is; if, however, the post seems to go in circles and the same thing gets said in a different way, I neglect it.
