GO BUNGIE!
Posted by: Rokit
I do believe the real question is, did you find value with your purchase?
Quiet obviously you did at the time of purchase, but it's apparent now that you are unsatisfied. Think of it like buying a new toy or stuffed animal for a child - or a pair of nice sunglasses for yourself; they love it at first and can't get enough of it, but in the end it will likely end up in a landfill.
The bright side? Since you had Bungie Pro you'll get something special for the new IP.
Nice analogy, I must say, but this (in my mind) is more comparable to buying a car. Whereas you typically buy it for more long term uses. I got the top of the line car here and used it for a good road trip as soon as I got it then let it sit in the garage to use at a later time. However, I feel like coming back and checking on the car in the garage and finding it empty due to it being stolen is kinda heartbreaking.
Now that metaphor might be going a little far there, but I still feel like all that money being spent and not getting the full use of the points when I thought I had all the time in the world to use them is like bait and switch on those who decided to spend the extra cash for a service that honestly couldn't have cost that much to run. They made it sound like it'd be there or as if it wouldn't be leaving us permanently and then did just that, and without anything in return. No refund, no continuing on the program in later games, and nothing in return for what we paid good money for.
This is sorta starting to sound like a rant now about how I, and many others, are at fault for not using what we had while we had it and that we were never guaranteed anything. Though that may be true, the customer shouldn't be punished for things he/she can't control. Bans on little kids boosting are controllable. Removing someone's recon or *insert armor piece here* because they just wanted to network manipulate just "once" to try it is controllable. However, the time you choose to use the render points you spent good (and for many others and myself, a lot of) money on, is NOT controllable.
We were promised a product that would allow us to render videos from either Halo 3 or Reach (that may be wrong, I don't honestly remember) for as long as we owned the game and upload the clips to our file share, and then it "expired".
I can understand where unexpected business situations can come into play with 343 now controlling everything Halo. The problem I have with it though is the failure to continue on the system put in place for paying customers in the new company. It's plain and simply bad business and horrible customer dealing.
