Subject: Halo Cheating?

Coming soon: http://dpadawan.com/

Okay I'm not really worried about it too terribly much, but I *am* curious: has anyone here encountered insanely (almost impossibly) good players playing Halo 3 lately?

I'm not great at Halo, admittedly. I average about 10 kills per game in Reach. I have my good matches here and there where I'll pwn a game of Swat with 18 to 22 kills, but only maybe 1 out of 10 games. The rest are either around 10 to 15, or I'll do horribly at around 5 or 6. Depends who I'm playing.

But I've been playing Swat on Halo 3 lately and I'm encountering people will will literally fly around a corner I'm walking up to and fire literally before I see them and they'll kill be with a headshot. Now once is lucky. Having that happen 15 times inside of a couple of minutes? I'm not THAT bad at Halo. I just don't have .00001 millisecond reaction time, which these people seem to do.

And unfortunately, there aren't many players online for Halo 3 anymore, so I'm sort of stuck with them. I know there are AIMBOTS for Halo Reach, plenty of hacking went on with Halo 2. Is anyone else encounting nearly impossible people on Halo 3 sometimes? I wasn't always like this for me...

P.S. Save the "you suck" posturing. I already admitted I wasn't that great a player. You're not being clever <3

I'm also encountering these people who are that good, and they have they're only a 6 or 7, like me, and their account only has less than 100G and only Halo 3 as their played games. Again, once would be one thing. But to encounter that regularly? Suspicious?

It's called "lag" and people playing on second accounts. Not really cheating.

Meaning what, my internet connection is too slow, or... what? I meant I know what lag is but I have fiber internet so I'm not so sure it's an issue on my end.

I also have a 240hz TV so it's response time is pretty good. Maybe not plasma good, or newer LED good, but it's a third gen LED.

While we're on the topic: what's a "lag switch"? I've never really gotten into Halo modding or cheating lol. But I've heard that term thrown around a lot before...

Okay if you're getting 30+ kills per game of SWAT: go outside. Honestly, no offense but that's too much Halo. Either that or you were born with precognitive reflexes or something.

Also why is 9 out of 10 players who are getting 25-30 kills per game on a BRAND NEW second account? That's not at all suspicious to you?

Nope. A lot of people play on second accounts. Nothing wrong with that.

People have been doing that since Halo: 3s release.

Also people know what they're doing because of Reach.

Halo multiplayer sucks!

Based on campaigns

Halo 2 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo 3 > Reach/CE tied

I doubt it, some people really do have unreal reflexes. It happened to me all the time, but playing loads of SWAT helped me improve and I was getting up to 22 kills. That is, until SWAT died.

Plus, they may just be on other accounts, or perhaps they are just naturally good at the game even at a low level.

I ONLY play SWAT and I'm still getting wrecked. And not by circumstances that seem plausible, but by people who shoot one teammate in mid air, and before hitting the ground, spin around 90° and headshot me as well. How did they know I was there, where exactly y head was at, and soon around that quickly and fire? I would upload the vids if I could. It's unreal. Literally, unreal.

Or dieing before someone comes around a corner to actually shoot me. That's a good one. This all happens much less in Reach, but in Halo 3 it's almost every game. I find it hard to believe I'm just THAT bad at Halo 3 and not Reach. SWAT, after all, is pretty much the same gameplay if both games...

I have also seen people sort of "floating". Not really floating but jumping up and then falling down whilst glitching upward at bit so that it almost looks like they're caught on a faulty grav lift. I suppose that is skill as well?

I play games for gameplay, not silly gimmicks

H3 MM warrior

Reach S7, 8 and 9 arena warrior.

H4 MM legend

no aimbots exist on xbox, save for jtags, and you cant get online with those anymore.

your just getting dumped on

I run Skirmish!!!

It just means you are playing against people that are good and know the game. SWAT relies a lot on connection so some of your problem could be there. But people "floating" in the air are probably ghandi hopping. Shooting before you turn a corner could be them looking on the radar and seeing you about to turn the corner than pre-shooting. kind of like pre-nading if your expecting someone to be there. I would recommend any other playlist but swat man..

Even I can get 30 kills in swat, its really not that hard.

I've gone thirty/ten in rounds of MLG on both halo 3 and reach.... And i'm not even good! I'm only and average player (or so my stats say)

But in a game like swat, its so easy to be good. All it takes is relfexes and accuracy.

Halo 3 has horribly laggy servers, thought I'd point that out.

And I think you should watch some MLG vids and see what those guys do, people like karma etc.

Its possible. I do it all the time and I'm a far from great player (BPR of sixty eight) it just takes knowledge of the map and knowing exactly where you are at all times. Chances are he probably saw you earlier and decided you werent much of a threat and moved on to your teammate first, thats what I do.

Pretty much this. ou're either playing with very good people, or you're getting wrecked by the host. SWAT depends on connection a ton anyway. I've hated SWAT ever since I played it for the first time on a Mexican host. Just play something else if it's bothering you.

SWAT does not use radars, and I'm talking hallways where there are no gaps and you could not have know I was coming, much less know EXACTLY where I was and thus, where the headshot was. Like I said, once is luck. 15 times in 2 minutes is fishy.

And about the comments about there not being AIMBOTS on XBOX: really? Even I know jtagging allows you to use things like AIMBOTS on XBOX. Come on now...

I have a 15mps down/5mbps up direct fiber Internet connection. If that ain't good enough for a nearly 5 year old game, something is wrong.

I've seen MLG's vids and honestly, most aren't nearly as good as the people I'm encountering. These are people with 25 to 30+ kills every game and like, 3 deaths. And as I've said, I am decent at SWAT on Reach; I average 12 to 15 kills every game, once in a while I'll bread mid 20's. Then I get on Halo 3 and get 3 or 4 kills AT MOST, consistently. I never do that on Reach.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Whatever the problem is, just avoid them on Xbox Live and hope you don't see them again.

Black Ops 2 I run two accounts warmup only at 1.97kdr...real is at 3.77. i'm in master division 4 league play. pm 4 clan inv...must have 2.5 kdr or better

A lot of people have modded controllers. That's a fact and it does ruin the game.

  • 06.29.2012 12:35 PM PDT

The servers for Halo 3 aren't as good any more. A lot of people are from foreign countries that play. I see people ice skating all the time(floating). I havent played Halo 3 in months and guarantee you that if I play you in swat 1v1, the score would be 15-0. Your probably just not use to the game unlike me who has been playing since the game came out.

There's a grav lift glitch or a mod that allows players to float below the map. For example, I played a game of high level MLG where players floated underneath the -blam!- jump area on Guardian. They basically betrayed each other and crouched in the dead body to enable the mod. It would show them dying inside another dead body and then they would float underneath the map.

I'm sorry America is busy helping others in the world and actually making a difference.

Something Canada will never do.

i think the issue here is you just really suck, not that anyone you play is godlike.

  • 06.29.2012 6:41 PM PDT

I can't wait for the day my hustle game don't gotta start this way.
AIM - c.ommview
Skype - Residue

They're just people on new accounts, and they probably have headsets on, so they can hear where you're shooting from, or walking.

What level swat are you playing? Anything under level 40 I normally got 25+ kills a game. People that have played a lot of SWAT jump before they go around any corner.

I have been playing Halo competitively since LAN parties back in 2001. So you're wrong about that. You're also probably wrong about 15-0. I'm sure you'd win, but you definitely wouldn't shut me out.
