Subject: 343 Guilty Spark - Trapped Marines

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I'm in the interior of the structure and find those three trapped Marines, I always revert and revert and revert until I've saved one of them. Which is excruciatingly difficult, since they are 1-hit KOs and the room is full of Flood.

What about the rest of you, though?

At least that encounter is survivable. In H2, you'd be too screwed by the Flood to be able to save marines. And don't make me bring up H3 Floodgate. Guilty Spark is child's play compared to saving all of those marines.

OT: Personally, I've never tried it as those marines don't seem to have any special dialogue nor can they follow you out of the room. Doesn't mean they're not worth saving. Every CE marine is worthy of salvation. It's just something I'm unfamiliar with plus I easily get lost on 343 GS.

I disagree. I rarely, rarely am able to save even one until the umpteenth attempt simply because of the infection forms and combat forms being everywhere. Even then, I can only save one. I once got lucky when a Marine got himself stuck on the top level inside the door, but there are always infection forms there now.

Fun Fact: In Halo 2, when playing as the Arbiter, the Marines show up as allies in the carbine view, but always get overwhelmed by the Flood infection forms as there is a low wall blocking them from view.

lol really? It's not that hard to navigate anymore....

Also, do you have Anniversary? I might pick it up so we can do some co-op Marine saving.

Yeah, I understated. It's equally difficult. But it's much more lenient than in H3.

I over-glorify CE levels.

Not anymore, but that's something I'd be willing to do. Do 48 hour trial codes work for online Co-op? I could easily get Anniversary again.

Yeah, Sacred Icon.

I'd imagine 48-hour codes would work, otherwise what would be the point of them?

~Nin10do Guy

Yes, they would work.

48 hour codes work for almost everything. I know they don't for Ranked playlists in H3 and Reach though. You need premium for that.

Cammalamm is the best.

Trial codes don't work for Co-op.

I have CEA, and I love doing Co-op. But if you want to do it, I'm not sure if CEA's shoddy netcode can handle my connection (I live in Australia).

On Sacred Icon, you can actually save those marines. By use of Sputnik and a grenade jump you can save them all with an SMG or Plasma Rifle. However, once saved they will turn on you. Hidden Bonus: If you don't use Sputnik, you can Grenade Jump onto the wall brackets and carefully fall down to the bottom to find a hidden BR.

I spent ALOT of time saving that one Marine on Floodgate that get's infected as you open the door.

Darn.

Well I don't have CEA.

Yep.

Really? Can it be picked up?

I still have nightmares of allied Spec Ops Elites sticking me to think about saving that marines.

Ooh, I love those people, the ones who decide to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you, as if an M16 does anything to a T-90. Oh, MLG player with noobtube instead? Congrats! You blew off one of my ablative plates!

Gun, meet Bad Guy.
Bad Guy, this is Gun.

I've tried it and suceeded mulitple times, but I usually get one stray bullet into them or some flood gets up and kills them.

Yeah they have poor health and those Flood can be sneaky.

Now that I think of it, the only marines that are worth saving from the Flood are the ones at the end of 343 GS and on Sacred Icon. Those 2-3 marines on 343 GS and the ones on Floodgate are not worth saving since they're not designed to be saved (hence the low health and overwhelming numbers).

Yes, you can use it and fire it. Most of the time you see a dead marine (Not infected) down there as well.

Suicide?

And yeah, interesting to know.

Also, sometimes the Marines at the end glitch up and instead of following me to the tower, they bunch up beside a tree outside the elevator room.
