Well i voted yes, but then after i thought about it, the MLG players take advantage of the game's glitches anyways (besides the sword). Usually, the MLG players use the combo, BXB and BXR to win, so i dont know if they would be considered the most trusted people to determine balance. Although the best way to protect against something is to get a proffesional in the same area of what your defending against. So the MLG players might find the glitches faster because thats what they do.

One game I'm not joking a little like 7 year old said and I quote " tell me what your dick looks like so I can imagine it in my head and beat off to it"

If Team Swat became ranked, would there still be no shields?

Amazing!

I swear I'd shoot you.

Down, down to hell and say that I sent you there...

I came into the world with my legs forward and a woman cried "he was born with teeth!"

"I had no father I am like my father...I had no brother I am like my brother...And this word, "love" which old farts call divine be resident in men like you -blam!-. But not in me, I am my mother-blam!- self, alone."

You Are an Idiot

I'd help. Nothing more than egotystical elitests trying to water a game down to their standards because they can't play on the default settings.

MLG teams shouldn't be allowed to test Halo 3. It would risk information Bungie doesn't want to be leaked to be leaked. Bungie tested Halo 2, and in my opinion it's the most entertaining FPS around. Other gamers are the ones who ruin Matchmaking, not Bungie. They didn't intend for cheating to happen, but it did anyways. Cheating is going to happen because other players want to win at all costs. It's human nature. Fair games are always fun, but when you get cheated that makes it irritating. Don't point the finger at Bungie, point it at your fellow Gamers, because their the ones ruining the game.

Help a brother out. Click on the referral link, sign up for a fun game, log in once for the next couple of days, then you never have to think about it again!

And yes. I understand how pathetic that is, but nobody reads these things anyway... right?

what makes MLG all high and mighty? how 'bout they randomly select some players that frequently play halo 2 and are over level 20 or something try it?

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME GROUP INVITATIONS

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

Post this topic in New Mombasa..you will get so many nerdy MLG kids flaming you..haha it would be funny.

I'd love to test it and I'd be trusted to give up any button combos, or physics engine lgitches I find as soon as I do (read my sig, I hate cheaters)..sadly it will probably only be for a select few..but I wanna be one of the select few..or at least have their address so I can go kill them and play Halo 3 till the police find me ^.^

It will be quite difficult, since halo 3 is going to be 64 player battlefield 2 type of gameplay.

i like how you can just make those statments

If Halo 3 had 64 player capability, I'd punch a brick wall. Halo isn't meant to be like Battlefield. 24 players maximum.

I'd LOVE that..only for large maps though..like I'm sure they will have huge maps (multiple times the size of Containment) so we need lots of people so it won't get boring..I'm sure theres a way to keep more than 16 people out of a Midship style map..

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

For what? So they can say: "No i don't like this, it doesn't require skill." Or "No this weapon would be too unbalanced in Multiplayer."

This is not a multiplayer only game folks. The game is based around a storyline, not around a multiplayer system of play.

No one should ever be afraid of looking stupid, so long as they are making a rational effort to expand their understanding.

If bungie keep this in-house method of playtesting, similar bugs and glitches will no doubt appear in halo 3, weapon balancing will need to updated much like the 1.1 update for halo 2. More needs to done with halo 3, kick the soccer mums and bring PRO playtesters from the MLG PRO gaming circuit.

So does this mean you would prefer Halo 3 to be a MLG pro paradise? Bungie doesn't need a crew of arrogant kids to tell them how to write a game. Leave design to the pros, and let the players decide if they like the final product or not.

Wow... stupidest idea ever. Balanced gaming does not equal fun gaming. Some people like overcoming chalenges, they dont throw little -blam!- fits every time someone "noob combos" them.

Ugh, I don't know why MLG people feel entitled to stuff like this- I'm not bashing anybody, and I don't know if the main poster had this attitude, but still- I don't care who playtests the game, so long as someone in my skill level gets to playtest it, too. As long as whoever playtests it is a broad group that covers many ages and skill levels, I'm getting equal representation, and the game is still being designed with me in mind. I don't want a game designed only for one group of people.

I actually agree with this.

The top players of Halo 2 pretty much go out and find every little glitch, hiding spot, and combos that work more than the casual player ever does.

Give em a couple of weeks of just some hardcore gaming and they could really tweak things quite well

I'm sorry but ranks dont mean anything... Onto my point

The thread creator did not want to play test the game himself nor have MLG pro players play test the entire game, he wanted the pro players to play test the multiplayer so that it can be somewhat balanced for people who like competitive gaming. The people that play this game for fun can do that exactly in halo 3, play the game for fun, but what halo 2 lacks is being competitive friendly please do not say MM is competitive. I think that the top teams in the MLG pro cirucit should play test this game because they can help make it a competitive game to the competitive gamers, but theres the issue for people who play this game for fun. I voted yes because I would really like some balance in Halo 3.

Um, people play this game competitively plenty, don't they? Aren't there tournaments everywhere with customizable settings? I'd say that as long as it has customization, it remains very competitive.

For Xbox Live purposes, it might as well be a multiplayer only game. you don't play campaign on live.

Makes no sense. balanced gaming does equal fun gaming. Admit it or not, the noob combo is cheap. Halo:Ce was balanced, and i have yet to see a multiplayer experience i didn't like, even when i was getting pwned because i was new. Now, its just ridiculous

  • 06.12.2006 11:32 PM PDT

I'm not using MLG PRO players for the hell of it, The top MLG teams are the best players in the world at halo, it would seem fitting to allow them to give advise to bungie about what they think would improve multiplayer areas.

i cant emphasis how WRONG you are there, there are loads of good players out there and dont play MLG, MLG is pretty pointless and if they were to test it they would screw bungie over and -blam!- the game up by making it boring and like that Halo 2 MLG games which tbh i find boring. i want to play halo how i want to not how a group want me to play (MLG) and they would take the fun out by making it to serious.

yeah we should do this because "pos" have found it necessary to eliminate every weapon but 5.. sniper, br, rockets and scord, and shotty. yet the rocket is only used on ivory tower.

the "pros" are also not the ones who "found" the glitches currently widespread in halo2.. also why pros? because they are the "best".. wow i want to flame you so badly right now..

  • 06.13.2006 2:34 AM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

No. Being in MLG makes you no more qualified than anyone else to test Halo 3.

If you want to test for exploits, glitches and especially weapon balance it would be a very BAD idea to have a small group of "leet" players test it.

This is exactly how Unreal Tournament got ruinated into UT2003/2004. You'll get a game that's absolutely no fun for the average player.

Instead, put out a limited public multiplayer demo with say three maps via xbox magazine, and let everybody play it. Set aside a forum for feedback. Disable the demo when the full game comes out.

Well there might be co-op online, or atleast im hoping there will be

  • 06.13.2006 3:21 AM PDT

I love chips!

No because then the game will have 1 weapon with unlimted ammo, also the one weapon would be boring and over powered.

Its also very ignorant to think that some MLG who have never made a game before will have any idea to make the game balanced or fun for the millions of players who will play it. I think Bungie with there 10 years of experience will have more of an idea.

Posted by: MLG TWISTED
Halo 2 was playtested by bungie/microsoft and soccer mums, the fact that power weapon combo's were not found like the PP/BR was an absolute disgrace. Bungie and microsoft are programmers, not playtesters.

In my opinion the top 8 teams from a PRO MLG event should get the chance to playtest Halo 3's multiplayer mode. Let teams like FINAL BOSS - CARBON - STR8 RIPPIN - XIT WOUNDS and others playtest Halo 3 for at least a month or more. They could playtest online also in a similar way halo 2 was tested online, after a month of play the PRO players would recommend to bungie ideas that could make the game better. Differences from physics, weapon balancing, weapon glitches, online glitches, off host glitches, host glitches, map design, These players can instruct bungie what is annoying about the game, what they believe can be improved.

I know your thread was created a little before t his thread, but Achronos gave an answer in that one which makes this one pointless. It will now be locked.

Edit: Actually, you created your's after he created his, so this is even more pointless because it is redundant.
