Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Team camo'ing

EIther this or when my headshot gets eaten resulting in me getting "out"-DMR'd in multiplayer.

Overall, the lackluster campaign and story was quite infuriating considering what I'd come to expect from a Halo game.

Dont forget the fact that all a team needs to do to destroy vehicles is sit back and spam DMRs. I guess we could even go one further and say that weak vehicles are the real problem. Whoever thought that concept was a good idea should be guillotined.
Reach promised increased AI & vehicle numbers, but most of the time, vehicles occurred the most often. Vehicle health did not account for such high vehicle numbers. There weren't that many active vehicles at once in CE, which is why vehicle health worked in that game.

So yes, it was brain dead decision. Getting in a vehicle in Reach is digging one's own grave.

Tell that to anyone who actually knows how to use vehicles.

I'd like to think I am (or was) a good Warthog driver. There's not much I can do when a DMR shot sends me flipping end-over-end, careening over a deep, dark precipice, and crashing into my mom's house.

"Before you insult someone, try walking a mile in their shoes. This way, when you insult them, you are a mile away and have their shoes."

I would have to choose between:

-The haters
-People who hide in corners and expect to not be killed by a nade
-People who betray for anything.

The last one is Halo in general, the corners was also in Halo 2, so I'd say the haters.

-blam!-. Bloom.

I can't tell you how many times somebodies managed to escape from me after I've disabled their shields because of bloom.
And I can't tell you how many god damn times I've died in dmr battles because of -blam!- bloom.

God this game makes me rage like no other game.

Planking : Parkour for people who don't move very fast.

People who complain about the game, say they never play it (or were done with it 'months' ago), but continue to play for hours a day, only to complain more, almost 2 years after launch. It's even funnier when they've been an Inheritor since last year. I can't picture anyone who no-lifes a game, then no-lifes the forums -blam!-ing about it being the picture of perfect mental health.

Could have saved themselves a lot of time and heart ache by just letting go and repopulating Halo 3. The 'majority' still thinks it's a better game then Reach. So it really wouldn't be a problem to surpass Reach if people just played that instead, right?

So you can carefully maneuver a Wraith while being pressure spammed by dozens of plasma pistol overcharges? You can move a bunch of scenery items into precise positions with the Wraith during all that chaos without screwing it up?

I've done this on Legendary and made it out relatively intact. But I died multiple times from stupid -blam!- like being unable to get out of the vehicle when boarded by an Elite (not to mention getting him off, which I only have 5 seconds to do and I'll have to damage the Wraith in the process) or from the 10 second countdown while being pressured by constantly arriving enemy dropships.

2 hours devoted to setting up 1 elaborate blockade just to gain control over the battle and fight Ultra Elites (because otherwise, the troopers always die, Pelican comes in and wipes the map clean, rinse and repeat). I've assassinated an entire wave of Covies without distractions or any cheap -blam!- (Hologram, needle rifle). Just a little positioning.

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

Either bloom on vanilla games, banshee/tank splash damage, or how a wraith can shoot straight down when you hijack the front.

  • 07.02.2012 3:37 AM PDT

Armor lock or camping.

  • 07.02.2012 11:10 AM PDT

Come on over to Moving Up for your primary help and Q&A source.

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."

I hate a few things while I'm in the moment, like campers and whatnot. But my pet hate is the achievements; a few of them seem to have glitches one way or another (the Defiant/Anniversary ones). It's quite disappointing trying so hard to get an achievement just to find that it won't unlock for some reason or another.

Jetpackers are scum, they should be rounded up! Especially the ones who find "glitch-perchs" high up where they can snipe all day like cowards. Without the 10 second return to arena message. But they're also cannon fodder on most maps. Personally I make it my mission in life to inflict as much damage on jetpackers as possible, even if it means mutual destruction. They have a weak point, directly underneath, if you a good honest runner, run underneath if you can get there without losing more than half a shield.

I'm not too fond of armour-lock either but they attract so much attention to themselves, they're not too much of a pain. But here should be a limit of 1 armour lock per 30 seconds. If you hit it even for a second, that's you done. I don't like repeated lockers to block a melle blow over and over. Spamming armour lock is very cheap. But there are players out there who seem to specialise in it, just like jetpack perches.

When people think all 10-13 year olds suck. Not all kids are bad at Halo and I have met some adults that suck. I'm 13 and I'm a Legend and one of the best Halo players my frineds have met and some were stronger than me when I started.

When I play to win I voice message people call outs.

Implying rank equals skill.

OT: People eating shots, but it only happens when I'm playing someone from Ecuador on their dial-up connection.

Your KD is 0.83. That means you get more deaths than kills per game. You're only better than your friends because they suck as well. You're also one of those kids that thinks rank means something when it clearly doesn't.

I have yet to meet a kid who has a positive KD and does not have LD/SWAT/GB as their most played playlist.

Armor lock.

I had played many FPS before the halo franchise sparked my interests, and flanking and using actually strategy to make sure you flank the enemy and see them first, was vital in all of them.

Now it doesn't matter who sees who first, if someone is just running around like a complete fool, and they get spotted by someone who is actually playing strategically, it doesn't matter, the fool can just armor lock and the field is level again. Armor lock would be good if after you used it, it made your shields drop automatically, other wise it's just rediculous.
