The only thing that helps me tolerate this forum is the traffic speed. It's slower than the Flood. Other than that, any redeemable qualities this forum died when the 2010s took over.
$5 says we'll see another 'What inspired your username?' in two weeks. I resent that!
I can't remember a single thread I've made in the community forum that either wasn't well written or proposed an interesting idea or topic of discussion (and go HT).
Toot your own horn much?
Whatever you've done personally is all well and good, but you're not representative of the rest of the Septagon. Good threads were everywhere here back in the day, but now with everything dark, we have have people like Hoobla. We have people making threads 'just because', and now that's become the norm due to Bungie still remaining dark. That's the thing, something like that shouldn't be considered tooting your own horn because making a good thread that sparks discussion, etc. should be the norm rather than something to be praised for. I do get where youre coming from about the quality of threads but to generalize it about a group of users that large is a little unnecessary.
I'm not saying it shouldn't be the norm. What I'm saying is that pointing out that you make a 'good' thread shouldn't have to be done.
And that generalizing may be unnecessary, but I haven't seen any older members rehashing the same repeat threads over and over again. You haven't seen them do it because they're the ones used to those topics and sick of discussing them. The newer members (the 2010s and onward) are either ignorant to the fact that what theyre talking about is a commonly reoccurring discussion or just simply feel there's still more they can say about it (and thus are not sick of it). The older members were the same way when they were newer members.
In the fifties, it was old people hating rock and roll who used to love swing and big band. Now, it's old people hating dub step who used to love rock and roll.
