I have posted many times saying that my average FPS is 18-24fps. People have been saying that is bad. Though I do find it very playable, and I still am a pritty good player. I feel that after people have told me this. That I could be a much better player if this wasn't an issue.

Here are my specs.
Pentium 4 2.2ghz
40gig hard drive
512mbs of ram.
256mb nVidia Geforce FX5200
DVD +- R

I have my game set to 640x480.

What am I doing wrong?

|Should have bought the damn mac version but no. No, I read people telling macs suck at gameing, but no, I bought the damn pc version| *disappointed*

It's true, Macs aren't as good as gaming machines as Windows-based PCs are, because the very best ones are really expensive and you can get that same performance and graphics with a Windows-based computer, which are cheaper to make.

It's not that PCs aren't great, but your PC just in particular isn't good.

Master Kim? Is that really you? you didn't answer the question at all! Try updating your drivers, close some background programs, defrag your hard drive and if that doesn't work, get someone smarter. BTW, nice computer.

EDIT: you beat me spartan, and what do you mean his computer sucks? its like twice as good as mine and I get a steady 30 FPS without FRAPS running.

Well, do you have all settings maxed out?

Getting a framerate of 30 FPS isn't hard with your specs, but the game will look akin to Star Fox.

His computer is considered to be in the low-low end of the gaming spectrum in the year 2006.

At 640x480 and no specular, it should be fine.

For a comparison to my own PC: AMD 3700+ @ 2.4, 1GB OCZ RAM @ 240MHz, 6-6-6-10. X800XL 256mb @ 425/1050...etc.

I play Halo at 30-60 FPS at 1600x1200. All settings high.
